Was there an R&B album that rings in your brain, but you can't remember the title? This is the book for you. This volume which includes every album to make Billboard Magazine's R&B album chart from 30 January 1965 - 26 December 1998 is a must have for any serious student of R&B music. It is an excellent companion volume to Joel Whitburn's "Top R&B Singles." This is because many artists that hit the R&B album charts, failed to make the R&B singles charts and vice versa. So you need both volumes to get a complete picture of what happened in R&B over the last thirty-five years. Also, if your interest lies beyond the most popular artists, this is one of the few volumes that will provide information on lesser known acts. A feature that I particularly like about this volume is that it includes ALL of the tracks for Top Ten albums (including the peak position for each track on the R&B singles chart). It also tells you how each album did on Billboard's Pop Album charts.

this is a very comprehensive book that covers many years&Decades of R&B.very detailed&full of insight&information.i do wonder how things would have been if Soundscan had have been in full effect during the full time period?but never the less it's still fantastic.

The R&B album chart is an often overlooked Billboard chart but it is interesting to see the various styles of albums that have made the charts from straight R&B to blues to reggae to jazz to hip-hop (to some surprising entries like Chicago & Wham!). Great information for any fan of R&B and the Billboard charts.
