The methods in this book were all used by me as I developed my small business. They have resulted in consistently high search results, good web traffic, and strong marketing results from web-based promotion.
Whether you run a product or service business, a nonprofit or a school any other type of business, the techniques in this book will increase your web traffic, your brand awareness and your business' legitimacy to your customers.
In the book we describe the basic steps for increasing web visibility, from building a web site, to blogging, social networking, and knowledge sharing. We cover the value of press releases, community networking and many more techniques to increase web visibility and customer contact.
If you want some good, simple techniques for promoting your business on the internet, this book is for you!

From the Author
I was just like most small business owners. I didn't want to do the Yellow Pages thing, and wanted to embrace the Internet.
But I didn't know how. I poked around many areas, and finally I did a lot of research on Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
I found out that a lot of the SEO material was crap.
Many SEO companies sell approaches and canned solutions and they don't work.
So I set out to identify the factors that would increase my own business' ranking in the major searches. And I found it was related to several things: Content, connections, blogging, social networking and a few other factors.
Interestingly, Google shifted their algorithm and changed some of the factors. The SEO kings were sent spinning as their one-dimensional solutions fell off the ranking algorithms.
But my website did fine. Because it was organic - not granola-organic, but based on real connections with outside sites, and containing real valuable content.
This book describes how to build a good solid website as a photographer or other small business owner, and grow connections naturally, through value-added content and connections. And it doesn't require a degree in Computer Science (which I have but don't often use!!)
