If I had purchased these earrings for myself, I would have returned them. But they were a gift for my daughter in law so what could I do? She smiled and said that she liked them, but when my son sent me a picture of my daughter in law wearing them I was so surprised. They appeared much smaller than I had expected and the stones were neither clear nor bright. I don't think I will be buying Amazon jewelry as a gift that is sent directly to the recipient any more; perhaps in the future I will try having the item sent to me first so that I can look it over. But isn't that the best part of gift shopping on Amazon - that the gift is sent to the recipient directly so that a gift doesn't need to be shipped twice?
