I did a lot of research before making my purchase. The seat is a bit pricey, but WELL worth the extra cost.

I already had a Topeak rack on my bike with a carry bag attached. THAT rack was not compatible with the seat, but the rack that comes with the seat is compatible with the bag. The rack for the seat has an extra 1-1/4" hole that the locking pin secures to.

The seat is well made, sturdy and stable. As an added bonus, it takes less than one minute to install it or remove it from the rack, meaning that you don't need to leave the seat on the bike when your not carrying the little one. I found few other seats that mounted and dismounted so easily.

A word of caution - change your regular kickstand to a double leg kickstand. It makes it MUCH easier and safer to put the child in and out of the seat. There are many styles and brands available, so the choice is yours, but choose a good, sturdy one.

If this is mounted to a men's bike, you will no longer be able to swing your leg over the back of the bike (without kicking the child in the head), so be ready to lift your leg over the bar instead. Hopefully you are flexible enough to do this. On a woman's bike, the step in makes mounting the bike easier.

My ONLY complaint, and not really much of one, is the foot straps that are intended to keep the child's feet in the stirrups. They are pretty awkward to put over the kid's feet. I chose not to use them (my granddaughter is 4 years old and could keep her feet in place). On that note, the footrests are height adjustable, a very nice feature.

We rode for the first time today with the child seat in place. At 33 pounds, and the 8 pounds of the seat, the ride was a bit more difficult, but I experienced no balance or wavering issues.

Good quality seat. Clips into included rack well. I knocked of a star because I thought this was designed for all Topeak racks. The rack that comes with it has a special hole cutout so the locking latch clicks and locks into place. In the end this didn't matter as I inserted the latch the same way despite the locking hole. I was not worried that it would become dislodged despite the lack of a locking click as it was in there snug. Ultimately the front hook is what holds most of the load anyway as it pivots down and straddles the rack and stays in place. There is an additional fail safe strap to hold in place. My toddler loved it and he seemed comfortable the whole time. I think the shocks help a lot for comfort.

This product has great features and bad features. First the good:

1) if the bike falls with the child in it, the side protection is good and protects the child.
2) it is made of durable materials.
3) easy to install on the bike.
4) the clip that secures the seat to the bike is easy to use and allows for "easy" removal of the seat from the bike.
5) my kid likes riding in it and says it is comfortable for long rides.

Now the bad:
1) the reason I know what happens when the bike falls is because the seat is awkward and makes the bike extremely unstable. This is a big issue when getting on/off the bike. The bike has fallen twice with my child in it.
2) the child seat is very difficult to put on and take off if your bike seat is not raised up high enough. This makes it difficult for women who aren't tall enough to raise the bike seat to an adequate clearance height. It is fine if you're tall enough to need to raise your bike seat to a height that clears the front part of the child seat where the seat clips onto the mount.
3)the lap bar is difficult to unlatch once it is latched. It is annoying and even a little stressful to get off the bike and try to undo the lap bar to be able to get the kid off the bike because it takes force to get it to unlatch. That force makes the bike even less stable and more likely to topple with the child in the seat. We've stepped around this problem by not completely latching the lap bar, but merely resting it into the mount. I know it isn't as safe, but if I can't get it unlatched without the bike toppling over, it's an issue of pick the least safe option.
4) I have to remove the kid from the child seat and have her hold to my shoulders and step to the ground before I get off my bike.

The installation was easy and our toddler loves riding in it! The straps are comfortable and the bar provides extra safety as well as a fun place for our toddler to hold on. The seat itself fully protects him almost like a cocoon. Wish we had bought it sooner!

The only minor negative we would state is that the gap for the helmet isn't suited for smaller toddlers. Once our toddler grows a bit taller, his head will fit perfectly in the gap; however, right now, his helmet currently sits below the gap.

Again, this is well worth the money and our toddler loves our bike rides in it.

Handle/safety bar is too difficult to unlock, one needs to have strong fingers.
Putting on foot straps is a bit too involved of a process.
Overall it's a great seat but the number of steps once has to talk to secure a child makes it inconvenient for a ride with multiple stops.
