5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, minimalist tool
The tool's solidly built, and it performs all its functions well. It has enough tools to loosen almost any bike bolt or screw, without being needlessly encumbered. I'm pleased with my purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid, but bulky
This is a well built tool, and it contains most things you'll need. It is on the bulky side though. There have been a couple occasions where it didn't fit the job; pedal work mainely. For the price its ok, but in hindsight I would have spent a bit more to get something better

What more can you want from something like this? It's not too heavy, it's small as hell and therefore a cinch to carry. No complaints from me...I've used it from keeping my cleats nice and tight to various screws and bolts on the bike.

I recently got out my mountain bike after several years and noticed that the seat was pointing in an upward angle and could not find my old tool for adjusting it. I wanted something small and cheap that could make the necessary adjustments. I am not saying it is great for large jobs because I would guess the small size may make it hard to get leverage. However, for small adjustments, it does the job. It worked for me.

I bought this to replace a slightly larger, though less functional Parks multitool that was starting to fall apart. Compared to the Parks tool, this is smaller, lighter, more functional (it has a screwdriver), and easier to use. I always had a really hard time opening the Parks tool and I normally had to use a coin to lever the first tool out. I don't have that problem with the Topeak - its design makes it easier to get open.

I like the selection of tools too - although I'm pretty sure I have no use for that star shapped tool - what the heck is that for? I would have prefered a flat-blade screwdriver instead of the star tool. If anyone knows where I'm likely to find a use for the star tool on a road bike please let me know.

It comes in a small case which is awesome (even has a belt loop). Whenever I pulled the Parks tool out of my saddlebag it would grab everything it could on the way out and I would end up spilling the contents of the saddlebag all over the road. The Topeak case solves that problem nicely.

This is a very basic tool. You will still need a chain tool and a spoke wrench at a minimum unless you really like long walks home.

Interestingly I'm starting to see the Topeak symbol all over my bike lately. I think I'm starting to like that company. They made my toolset, pump, and saddlebag. LOL - hadn't noticed before.

This tool is a must-have biking companion. With it you'll be able to adjust your seat, handlebars, and gears, at least. It's small, has just what you need, and fits snugly in its own carrying case. It takes up less room than most tire levers in your bag/pocket. It's robust and can take a drop (or 20) onto the asphalt.

A friend recommended I pick up this awesome little tool when I bought my first bike. It lived in my bike bag and was the first bike tool I ever owned (I now am a bike mechanic, so I have lots of tools). When my roommate bought her first bike, I loaned mine to her so she could adjust her seat. She wouldn't give it back. So I bought another one and it too was "gifted" to another riding companion. When I went to the store to buy my third one, another friend came with me and bought one for himself (I refused to give him mine, though he did try). I recently bought my mother a bike and guess what was the first thing in her saddlebag? You guessed it, the Topeak Mini 9. This last one I purchased for myself, to go in the saddle bag of my 2nd bike, mainly because I got tired of forgetting to switch the bag over.

Perfect size, a bit larger than a box of matches. Has enough tools to tighten up minor issues on the road to keep you rolling. Comes w/ its own carrying case if you don't want to throw it in a seat bag. My only dig is it is a little thick. Recommended purchase.

It's good for most maintenance tasks. I received it on time and as described. A little too heavy to carry around all the time, but great otherwise.

I got these tool after I experienced a flat on my first ride on my new road bike! Of course I didn't have any equipment to fix the flat so I made sure I bought everything I needed right away. (tubes, tire levers, tool, and a bag to put them all in.) The tool is great! It's so small and has great components to it. It comes with a nice little neoprene case too which is nice. I bought a small Topeak wedge saddle bag and am able to fit the tool, tube, levers, iphone and more.

I haven't had too many opportunities to use this tool so far, but overall I have been very pleased. It is very compact so it fits easily into my saddle bag. It also feels very sturdy. My previous multitool had some plastic parts and felt as if it might break.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded Expectations. Fits every job i need on my bike., July 7, 2011

It does everything i need! I wasn't sure it would have all the sizes i needed but so far I have been able to adjust front/rear derailuer, adjust seat post, adjust seat angle, install water cages, adjust brakes. Truly a lifesaver to have in your seat bag for any road adjustments.

PROS

Size - very small and relatively light. takes up little room in my seat bag.
9 Function - the allen sizes included along with screw driver have fit every job i have needed.
Cover - comes with a nice velcro cover. very stylish.

I dont know why anyone needs more than just the basic 9 function tools. they are lighter and provide for about any adjustment you are going to need while on the road. Great buy!
