From the reviews, it appears that in the past Amazon misidentified this rack as the version that accommodates disc brakes. I guess that has been fixed; the title is correct and it is indeed the non-disc version. The disc brake version (without the spring) would be here:

[...]

As of this posting, the title misidentifies this rack as the version without the spring. You can see the spring in the picture, and that's what I got. If you don't want to pay the extra money for the spring, you should buy this one:

[...]
When I was looking in April, another review warned that it had the spring, but at the time no-one else had the non-spring version, so I took the gamble and bought this one. The spring was easy to remove; you just unscrew a plug on the hinge axle and it all comes apart, neat as you please. There are still two chunks of aluminum welded to the rack frame that do not come off, but that's OK with me.

It is sturdy, well constructed (paint, welding, etc.), and looks good. I got it partly for the side bars, though I need panniers less than before, because I also got Topeak's MTX DXP. And it's interesting to have an extra bend in the rear stay to hold panniers away from the wheel -- though I can't say how important that really is. Mainly I got it because it accommodates Topeak's quick-release bags.

The included hardware is of good quality and stainless steel. The attachment extensions that span from the underside of the rack deck to the bike's seat stays seem long enough to fit many, many bicycles. The nuts provided all have plastic inserts to make them vibration-proof.

Although the description of this item doesn't mention it, this rack has a spring clip. This is barely visible in the picture.

Do not buy this rack from Amazon if you need the disc brake version - buy it from a local bike shop or online bike shop. There is a problem with Amazon ordering process and it cuts off part of the description. Naturally the part that gets cut off is about being the disc brake version. I received the wrong product twice and I doubt anyone else ordering it will receive the correct model either.

Returned my wrong units and picked it up at the LBS. The rack itself is decent enough, but I really recommend trying to get it at a local bike shop. The lower mount is a block of aluminum that a bolt goes into. The block is pretty big so it may interfere with the caliper mounting bolt for your discs.

The gentlemen in the other review is correct and this small oversight would end up being a big pain. The model you are showing IS NOT the model for disc brakes. So either your picture is wrong or your title is wrong. Judging by the previous person's experience in what he actually received and wanted, I would say that your title is wrong based on the fact that you are NOT sending a disc brake version out with this order.

These are, however, both very good racks.
