This book is a great guide for freshmen taking a liberal arts math course. There are many examples of applications and lots of practice problems.

This book has helped me out a lot. I learned a lot with this book. I'm glad my teacher taught with it.

I don't know if this is the case with every textbook (I certainly don't remember it being so), but this book made it hard to understand the formulas. It also would have been handy to have examples that made sense.... Many of the graphs and charts were outdated, and there were even several errors in the text. One was even in the first chapter. Not a book I'd recommend getting unless required to.

Additionally, you do not need to buy the solutions manual that they try to tell you is important. (Bello, Topics In Contemporary Math Student Solutions Manual 9e) It doesn't have anything that the back of the textbook doesn't. All it does is give you the answers for the odd numbered questions!! Trust me, you don't need it!

I don't like math, and never will, but this book helped me get through a tough course. The explanations were pretty clear and easy to understand. I won't say that about most math books I've had. I did pretty well on most of my tests and got a decent grade. I think it was the practice problems that helped me the most.

Book came in very poor condition, despite the fact that it was promised to be in good shape by the seller. There are large sections that are highlighted and the barcode on the bag is almost completely faded. I am disappointed,especially after being deceived by the seller's inflated ratings. I encourage the seller to take more care while reviewing his or her product before listing the product's condition an d before shipping it to customers.

I loved this book! Not for the typical reason that one would think though. It's a mathematics text book that I bought for my college freshman for half the price of a new one. If that's not something to love I don't know what is.

In great condition!! not only that, i got it shipped and ready a few days later. no regrets!

I have no complaints. I received my order in a timely manner and in good condition. I would consider future purchases.

My daughter need this book for a summer math class. It was much cheaper than the bookstore and the seller shipped it right away to ensure that she received it by her first day of class. Highly recommend this seller!

Wow! I saved $95 by buying this textbook from Amazon rather than go through the college book store and paying their used price. It was exactly what my son needed.
