Even Your Toughest Questions Deserve Answers

Nobody told you life would be so complicated or so full of questions. Sometimes you wonder whether anyone really has the answers. Someone does.

God is big enough to handle even our hardest questions.

Hot Topics, Tough Questions goes beyond the expected to dig deep for biblical, workable solutions to applying God's truth to everyday life. Far more than lists of Bible verses, this book tackles some of the most-asked questions of teens in youth groups across the United States, including

What Is God Really Like?

The Media Are We Really What We Eat?

What About All This Occult Stuff?

Is Hell for Real?

How Can I Make God More Real in My Life?

With all of life's challenges in today's fast-paced world, teens like you can't afford to wait for answers to these vital questions. This down-to-earth guide offers you real help and honest insights from an author you can trust.

Bill Myers is an exceptionally creative youth worker, writer, and film director whose work has received over forty national and international awards. A Christian with a deep faith and a commitment to encourage others toward spiritual growth, he also hosts the popular Fast Forward video series, a companion to Hot Topics, used nationwide by over 25,000 youth groups.

More About the Author

Hi.
Thanks for checking up on me. Probably best to go over to my web site: www.Billmyers.com for biography information. And if you're really bored, there's my fan site over on Facebook:
www.facebook.com/pages/Bill-Myers/44983396181 Oh, and one last thing. If you're a student and your class reads one of my books, I'll do a 'meet the author' 30 min question and answer session by speakerphone with your class from my office here in California. If you're a reader's group, the same thing goes...in which case I'd recommend ELI to really get the discussion juices flowing - at least until THE GOD HATER comes out in 2010. Thanks for stopping by!

5.0 out of 5 stars Concise, informative, and easy to read, February 21, 2000
This review is from: Hot Topics, Tough Questions (Paperback)
I am a Jr. High Youth Group leader and am always looking for good books to share with the kids, and ones that answer the tough questions these kids have. I thought this book was wonderful! I highly recommend it to those wanting to know the answers to the questions that come up when first becoming a Christian, or just checking out Christianity.

I found the chapters entitled "What about all this Occult stuff?" and "What's all this New Age stuff?" answered questions I personally had.

A book that answers questions of the X-Files generation!
, October 15, 1997

This review is from: Hot Topics, Tough Questions (Paperback)
After having read many books that answer the "questions" teens are asking, I'm settled on the fact that this is the one that does it best! Bill Myers hits the non-traditional topics such as UFOs and Ouija Boards, while still leaving room to address the "common" topics like dealing with parents, friends, and dating situations.

If you're not a heavy reader but are still interested in understanding heavy topics, you'll find this book easy to read, as well as easy to reference when a friend hits you up with a hard question.

This is the book you're looking for!

1.0 out of 5 stars Frightening and disturbing!, May 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Hot Topics, Tough Questions (Paperback)
Most of this book is nice for Christian kids who have questions about stuff like drugs, sex, and other tough issues. However, there were two chapters, "What about all this Occult Stuff?" and "What about all this New Age stuff?" that I found deeply disturbing. The author claims that meditation and Eastern religions like kind and gentle Buddhism are Satanic!! Yes, sitting quietly and focusing your thoughts on love and light (for many New Age students this means the love and light of God or Jesus) is actually the work of the devil! I just pray that some troubled adolescent doesn't take too seriously the part about STONING TO DEATH someone who is or claims to be a psychic or medium. It's one thing to not believe in or agree with a religion that is different from yours. It is quite another to preach to children that all other beliefs are evil and should be destroyed (by humans, not God). Do your kids a favor and don't buy this book.
