nice product...Heyward rookie and Strasburg mini, July 21, 2010
This review is from: 2010 Topps Allen & Ginter MLB Factory Sealed Box- Hot! (Misc.)
i gave 2010 Topps Allen & Ginter a shot, and the product overall isn't that bad.
i don't like the non-baseball cards, to me, it's a waste of a card. When i see a baseball card product, i'm thinking Albert Pujols and Derek Jeter, not Tony Hawk, DiVinci or the World's Tallest Building.
That's a letdown.
The rookies are nice and include Mike Leake, Buster Posey, and Braves outfield Jason Heyward.
Of course, the hot card of the set, although it isn't listed as a short print card, is the Stephen Strasburg mini rookie card. Mini cards are seeded about 1 per pack, but good luck finding the Strasburg. I've read of some people buying a case of Allen & Ginter and not getting a single Strasburg mini card.
The demand for this card is amazing. On Ebay, they were goin for between $600-$1000.
I've pulled 2 inserts, real nice looking inserts, probably the nicest looking inserts of 2010.
They are called "Framed relics". It's a mini card with a piece of game used memorablilia with a card frame around it. Really nice looking. I've pulled a BJ Upton bat and an Adam Lind (Blue Jays) piece of the pants.
Overall, 2010 Allen & Ginter isn't bad. Take away the non-baseball cards and throw in a base Strasburg rookie instead of the "mini" version, and i'd give this a full 5 stars, but instead....3
