This book is NOT just about a dog. It is about life and death-what we all face. As Topsy suffered from cancer of the jaw, so did Sigmund Freud and their treatments were similar. The book delves into the mystery of life that we all face and the inevitable. It is a very sensitive book but not dreary or pessimistic. I found the book hopeful. As a psychoanalyst who deals with patients with chronic illness I found the true story of immense value. Ronald Turco, M.D.
