As an Ashkenazic Jew, I really wasn't very familiar with Me'am Lo'ez. In my Ashkenazic circles, it is almost unknown. What a shame! I recently ordered this volume along with the first one, and I plan to order more. Yes, there are passages here and there that might make "modern" Jews shake their heads. Still, Me'am Lo'ez is a real treasure! I now understand why it is so popular in the Sephardic Jewish world. Other books attempt to make the Torah come alive, but many don't succeed. Me'am Lo'ez does. This classic should be in every Jewish home.
