Owen and Tosh novel..., August 26, 2009
This review is from: Torchwood: SkyPoint (Hardcover)
I mean Torchwood members are all in it, including Rhys, but the novel really seems to focus more on Owen and Tosh, which it OK. I like both of these characters and never got a enough of them.
The idea is simple - I always say that, didn't I? Residents in a new high-rise apartment block are disappearing. Not walking out, but really just disappearing. Something is taking them. Something is, well, pulling them into the walls. Hooked you yet? Well, Owen and Tosh have to pretend to be a married couple so they can get an apartment and see what is going on. Tosh's dream come true? Not really, when you remember Owen is dead as a coffin nail.
I enjoyed it up to the end. The ending was, frankly, kind of lame. Logical, reasonable, but still kind of, you've got to be kidding me, lame. In my humble view anyway. Still, worth buying or getting used.

Jhaeman's Review, June 6, 2009
This review is from: Torchwood: SkyPoint (Hardcover)
What a fun book! My favorite Torchwood novel so far, Skypoint is # 8 in the series and (unbeknownst to me when purchased) is set somewhere in the middle of season two (i.e., some major spoilers abound). Something preternaturally fast that can move through walls is haunting an apartment building in Cardiff, and it's not Rift-related. The book is fast-paced and engaging, with a focus on Owen (I'm starting to realize that the person prominently featured on the cover is not necessarily prominently featured in the novel). The Torchwood series of media tie-in novels are right up there with Babylon 5 and Star Wars in terms of quality, and far exceed the average Buffy, Lost, or Star Trek book.

Great Addition to Torchwood Series, February 9, 2009
This review is from: Torchwood: SkyPoint (Hardcover)
Another great book to add to the Torchwood series. All the authors write in the style of the television show which only adds to more adventures for the characters who may have grown to love or hate.
