Owen and Tosh novel...,

I mean Torchwood members are all in it, including Rhys, but the novel really seems to focus more on Owen and Tosh, which it OK. I like both of these characters and never got a enough of them.
The idea is simple - I always say that, didn't I? Residents in a new high-rise apartment block are disappearing. Not walking out, but really just disappearing. Something is taking them. Something is, well, pulling them into the walls. Hooked you yet? Well, Owen and Tosh have to pretend to be a married couple so they can get an apartment and see what is going on. Tosh's dream come true? Not really, when you remember Owen is dead as a coffin nail. I enjoyed it up to the end. The ending was, frankly, kind of lame. Logical, reasonable, but still kind of, you've got to be kidding me, lame. In my humble view anyway. Still, worth buying or getting used.

Jhaeman's Review,

This review is from: Torchwood: SkyPoint (Hardcover)
What a fun book! My favorite Torchwood novel so far, Skypoint is # 8 in the series and (unbeknownst to me when purchased) is set somewhere in the middle of season two (i.e., some major spoilers abound). Something preternaturally fast that can move through walls is haunting an apartment building in Cardiff, and it's not Rift-related. The book is fast-paced and engaging, with a focus on Owen (I'm starting to realize that the person prominently featured on the cover is not necessarily prominently featured in the novel). The Torchwood series of media tie-in novels are right up there with Babylon 5 and Star Wars in terms of quality, and far exceed the average Buffy, Lost, or Star Trek book.

Great Addition to Torchwood Series,

Another great book to add to the Torchwood series. All the authors write in the style of the television show which only adds to more adventures for the characters who may have grown to love or hate.

Unlike some of the other Torchwood books, this one seems to really have all the characters pegged--we get lots of their inner thoughts and all of them seemed right on the money--so it was fun to have them all fleshed out more. I really enjoyed that this book focused mostly on Tosh and Owen--especially since their exits from the series on TV--it sort of prolongs time we get to spend with them.
I really enjoyed this story, though the end seemed to come a little too fast--I would have been happy for it to go on a lot longer. But because the author did so well portraying each of the main characters, I could have read another 100-200 pages and still have been happy. This book is a keeper and I look forward to reading it again someday.

Torchwood between episodes,
This review is from: Torchwood: SkyPoint (Hardcover)
"Skypoint" takes place in the last Torchwood series--after Owen gets shot in the heart & before the series finale. Owen & Tosh are featured in this book and their thoughts & actions are very true to how they are portrayed on tv. There is some backstory which shows why Owen & Tosh behave as they do, but there is plenty of action too. While the villains may not be entirely unique, they do present a challenge to the Torchwood team & each character confronts the villains in their own idiosyncratic way.

A must-read for Owen Harper fans,
This review is from: Torchwood: SkyPoint (Hardcover)
I quite enjoyed this book. Set during the latter half of the second series, it's a solid outing for the Torchwood team, a briskly-moving story that delivers the expected twists and chills.
Tosh and Owen really get to shine here. While there aren't any new revelations, it's interesting to watch the dynamics of their relationship play out as, to aid the investigation, they take on the role of a married couple. The author also gives us a peek into Owen's head as he continues to come to terms with his life after death existence. The book's ending is a bit too rushed; I would have preferred a more detailed resolution. Overall though, this minor quibble didn't detract from my reading enjoyment.

I liked the story and the chapters are for the most part not too long to fill in a few minutes. One of the minority of the Torchwood books which have Owen and Tosh in them, my favourite team members.

I barely got through this book, I found it dull. I thought I would really like it but it was just kind of irrelevent. the charactorization wasn't bad, but the plot just didn't know what it wanted to be, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone other then a hard core torchwood fan
