I looked very carefully at the various tool chests available on Amazon. I didn't want to spend a fortune but I know "your get what you pay for". After due consideration, I selected the Torin unit due to the ball bearing door sliders and the fact that another customer said it was of a better quality than Craftsman. I never looked at a Craftsman tool chest but I had a limited budget so decided to take a chance. What I got was a reasonably heavy duty steel chest that looks good, has a decent fit of the lid and drawers, and stacks as designed with the companion unit. Though made in China, it satisfies my need for a decently constructed common repository for the gazillions of tools I have accumulated over time and that were scattered about my garage. This is not a "Snap On" quality chest (you can't expect it to be at the price) but it's not a piece of cheap junk either. If you need a place to put your stuff that looks decent and has got some torsional integrity, you would do well to consider this item. One nice touch is are the included shelf liners. For an occasional Saturday mechanic like me, this one is a super value from my perspective.

Northern Tools is a great vendor, and this chest is well-made, with excellent drawer glides and a sturdy feel unlike the lower or mid priced Craftsman models which feel "cheap". I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chest included rubber padding in the drawers. Nice touch.

I noticed my review was not uploaded to the Northern Tool site. This product is very poorly packaged for its given weight, size and overall quality (it is easily damaged). Mine arrived heavily damaged - twice. Also, the replacement was missing the drawer key. To be fair, for the price (especially now that they lowered it - used to be $200), it's not a bad deal, but I'd have zero confidence in it arriving in an undamaged condition.
