Great Jack Stands,

This review is from: Torin T43002A 3 Ton Double Locking Jack Stands (Sold in Pairs) (Automotive)
For any of you that were wondering it is sold as a pair of jack stands not just one because i was very confused before i purchased these and just waited to see if it was one or two! Besides that they are very sturdy jack stands and i love the double locking feature for added security and no need to bend a piece of steel like i have read with some other comparable Jack stands! I have a 4200 pound dodge charger and these held up the rear of the car just fine! I would reccommend if you have a suv or a car that is higher off the ground than most sedans to buy other jack stands because i believe on the box the maximum lift height is 16 and a quarter inches! However even on the lowest setting it was still able to hold the rear of my charger a little off the ground!

After reading about a recent death by a car enthusiast working on his car using non-locking jack stands, I immediately decided to replace my non-locking jackstands with these locking jack stands. Non-locking jackstands can collapse if the adjustment arm is accidentally bumped and pose a hazard if you're under the vehicle.
These jack stands are high quality and lock so they can't collapse accidentally when you're under the vehicle. If your jack stands don't lock you really should consider replacing them.

The jacks are clean looking and well made and my car was as solid as a rock when sitting on them. They lose one star because the locking key on one jack doesn't quite fit in the holes in the frame designed to receive it. I had to encourage it to work the first time with a few taps from a hammer.

Very bad and incomplete welds. Some of the welds are blotched. I ordered two sets and had to return them because I did not want to risk the car falling on me. I also have some pictures attached for you to see.

I bought a pair of these to work on my car. (A Toyota Corolla) The first thing that I noticed about these is that they are VERY sturdy and do not feel that they would break very easily. Two pairs come disassembled with 2 red stands and 2 black rods. A very simple two piece assembly is required, insert the black rods into the red stands and bend the metal tab on the side of the stands inwards. (I used a flat head screwdriver to achieve this without damaging the stand or screwdriver.) There are 8 different height settings beginning at about 11 inches going all the way upto 16.5 inches. (Each increase in height is about 3/4 an inch with the lowest or default setting beginning at about 11) If my measurements are off, I do apologize as these are approximates. Before using these stands, please make sure to read the instructions! Also, they MUST be used in pairs!! To sum things up, this is a great product for a great price. I felt very safe working with these and would definitely recommend these to work on mid-size to small cars. (These jack stands could probably work for bigger cars too but, I like to feel extra safe.)

Best thing about these jacks is the security pin, to prevent the jack from collapsing. Say if you or someone accidentally hit up on the handle when your under the car. At least now I can feel safe under the car knowing these have a extra feature that most jack stand don't offer.

I'm really glad that I bought these 3 ton jack stands because of (feel safer) the extra locking bolt option. There is a tab that you're supposed to bend inwards when you first assemble each jack stand, but I decided to skip that because from what I've seen there is no easy way to do this -- and if you always use the locking bolt, didn't see how it's necessary.
One of my main concerns before buying was will they fit under my car and how high will they go. When I called their customer service a girl answered who didn't sound like she knew and just answered "yeah..." So, I just had to use the specs from their website, my vehicle owner's manual, and make a calculated guess with some measuring tools. Anyways, my car is a 2001 LS 430 model Lexus and these work fine for my initial purpose: oil change. The quality of these seem very good along with having a reasonable price. I've seen combo deals elsewhere where you get a jack too, but never with the right weight support/features, so it ends up being a la carte style for me. If you have a car, you probably won't need to go beyond 3 ton, and besides any higher would probably be for trucks/suv's.

I bought the 3 ton stands (since they were about $1-2 more) and they work great. Some people thought they were too tall but they work great on my '06 Corolla (which is fairly low and has an annoying low profile body kit).
Overall, solid construction, affordable, and they work just fine! Oh, I think it's mentioned in other reviews, but there are 2 stands in each box!

I bought these for my boyfriend, who drives a 1998 Camaro. They were perfect for his car and strong enough to hold the weight.

Ended up buying the hein-warner 3 ton jack and looked at them side by side. These are only the size of 2 ton jacks and upon inspecting the welds, they didn't even seal the seam properly on one of the two. Did not trust life under a car with these so returned them. $50 bucks more when safety is concerned is well worth not having a crushed ribcage.
