Jack stands appear well made and sturdy.

Perfect for the SUV and I did not have to use the extension but a bit too tall for the sedan.

This review is for the Torin T43006 3 Ton SUV jack stands.

I ordered a pair of these today so I can lift my Suburban high enough to pull the transmission out. I was curious about their 3 ton rating on this pair of stands since very few of the jack stand manufacturers seem to say explicitly whether the rating is per stand or per pair of stands. To find out, I got in touch with TorinJacks customer server and ask them. Patricia Rodriguez was nice enough to reply to me the very same day and cleared up my question. The capacity rating of 3 tons is for BOTH stands, so each stand will support 1/2 of the pairs total rating. Good enough for me now that I know for sure and thank you Patricia for your speedy and courteous response.

My question to them was about the 3 Ton SUV stands but it should apply to all of them unless they explicitly state otherwise.
My Suburban weights about 6500 pounds and I have two pairs of 3-Ton stands so I should have plenty of margin.
Most other jack stand manufactures label their capacity rating the same way as well, per pair. Craftsman jack stands (some of them at least) explicitly state the capacity as "per pair" but not many companies make that little piece of information clear.

One after thought. I bought these for the extra high lifting range (LIFTING RANGE 14"-20.68" )
After I placed my order, I found out that the 6 Ton (Torin T46002A) has an even higher lifting range (LIFTING RANGE 15.2"-23.8") and of course, twice the load capacity, and they are only $7 more.
I'll hang on to my 3 Ton SUV jacks but if I had it to do again I would spend the extra $7 order the 6 ton.
The 6 ton stands are also 10 pounds heavier.

In looking for some jack stands for my XJ I initially was going to order the regular Torin 3-ton stands but one of the reviews stated that those jacks stands were too short for an SUV. So I went to Torin's website and pulled the data for these jack stands, which I just put in my cart.

ItemNo T43006
CAPACITY TONS 3
LIFTING RANGE 14"-20.68"
NET WEIGHT 19.6 lbs
GROSS WEIGHT 21.6 lbs
PACKAGE SIZE 9.25"x7.68"x5.5"

These stands worked great for my Cherokee. No issues with them and they worked as advertised. I apologize that it took so long for a "proper" review Mr. Shaw, some of us don't just sit around and comment on reviews.

Thanks

Bought these for light duty work on my Jeep Wrangler. They seem to hold the weight fine, but I did have one of the auto lock mechanisms fail after the 3rd use. I now have to manually get the stand to catch before putting it under the Jeep. They work for what I need (keep the jeep up while tires are off), but I won't be crawling under the vehicle with these, no way. They're $35 jack stands, so you get what you pay for. I'm ordering a pair of 6 ton double locking stands and hoping for a more confidence inspiring jack stand before I attempt a suspension install.

Relative to other increased-clearance jack stands, these seem to stand out as the minimum level below which what you buy is just crap. For example, I would never buy a set of jack stands from Harbor Freight or other discount tool retailer. I checked out a bunch of stands before I purchased, and these seemed to be the most decently constructed without putting an unnecessarily-large hole in my wallet.

I have used these a few times to work on the brakes and suspension on my Range Rover. Because of the car's self-leveling suspension, I usually have to keep these stands near their maximum height and then jack up the car several times until the suspension reaches maximum height and can't drop the wheels any more. I know that the jacks are meant to work within their range, but I'd feel more comfortable if I had a few more "notches" to go before the stands were at their maximum clearance.

These jack stands are ok. If I had seen them in a store, I wouldn't have purchased them. The welds are not very good, and the stands are only welded on one side of each seam. I haven't had any problems with them though. They just make me a little nervous. Inspect them carefully before each use!

Not much to say, they're jack stands and they did their job well under half of a 6700 pound truck...or else I wouldn't be writing this review :).

Might be good for the pro mechanic too, but I can't speak for them. I bought a pair of these to hold up my 2008 Outback while I replaced the brake pads. They're solid, came well-packaged and held the car up securely. I had originally planned to get the Torin T43002A 3 Ton Double Locking Jack Stands (Sold in Pairs) for the extra safety, but blanched when I realized I'd have to pay extra shipping for those (what can I say? I hate shipping costs). The feet are not "solid" or "flat" so they'll dig impressions in your driveway if you have the soft kind, though I used these on the concrete of my garage, so it didn't make any difference. They're sturdy, secure and cheap. That's everything I can ask of a jack stand.
