Product Description

Curse the quick thinking of the Arch Authority, snatching the child away before his doom was sealed. Had the lad been with the rest, surely my suffering would have ceased years ago. At last I have found him, but in a world of isolation and innocence. He has no idea of the twists and turns his life has taken thus far, nor the path I have planned for his very short future. Just let him try to discover the truth, and learn the secrets of Strata's five nested worlds. Watching his struggle will be an amusement. Facing him will be horribly wonderful. Al Lowe, former high school band director, is the creator of the tremendously successful Leisure Suit Larry games. Here software's best-selling humorist combines his writing talent and comedic genius to create an adventure the whole family can enjoy together (although they may be laughing at completely different times.) A Classic DOS-based game that runs fine under Windows 95/98. 24-pg. Users Manual; 24-pg Imagination Network booklet; registration packet

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Old Game, December 1, 2006

I love this old game. Sierra is one of my all-time favorite game companys for way-back-when, and I still enjoy playing them. However, they -usually- don't run on newer computers.

However, there are fixes to these problems (So, if you're determined enough and love the game enough that you want to play.. these suggestions are for you.) I have several old games I still play. Leisure Suit Larry, Space Quest games, Pizza Tycoon... Here are ways to get them to work.

1. Search the internet and see if there are patches for them! Chances are if they're something extremely popular, such as Kings Quest and Space Quest, there will be.

2. Download a DOS emulator. I highly recommend DOSBox. It may look confusing at first, but read the instructions on the site and it'll come more easily. It will be pretty simple for those who grew up with computers and remember back to the DOS system, I think.

3. Use a slow-down utility. This isn't the best option, but it will work if you save your game constantly and you can use it when you come across timer issues. The one I've used before, and recommend, is Turbo. All it does is slow down your computer, it will not hurt it. Just make sure you have everything closed so your computer doesn't freeze up.

That's all there is to it! Enjoy playing those golden old games! :D

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Tis a great old game, November 21, 2004

This is my favorite old PC game! The storyline, characters, and settings are all so well-developed that it is mindblowing; as a kid, it was easy to get completely lost in this game. It's a shame that it was never updated to run on the newer operating systems, because this is really a gem. It might seem a little slow these days, but I think that it is still a great game.
