Automatic switches are used to turn on or off electrical devices and are activated by time, light, and motion. Time activated switches (also known as timers) operate at preset time intervals during a daily or weekly period and can be either mechanical or electronic. Mechanical timers feature a dial with multiple pins to set the on/off time intervals. Electronic timers feature an LCD display and pushbuttons to set the time intervals. Light activated switches (also known as optical or photo) operate when ambient light levels reach preset values, generally measured in foot candles. Motion-activated switches (also known as motion sensors) operate when an electronic field of a preset range is interrupted. These switches can include energy saving logic that uses combinations of time, light, and motion to operate and can include one or more device outlets or circuit contacts. Automatic switches are used to control indoor lights, outdoor lights, appliances, and small equipment motors.

NSi Industries manufactures electrical components and sensors, lighting products, and energy management products. The company, founded in 1975, is headquartered in Huntersville, NC.

I have been using this timer to control the background heating at my cottage in Ontario. Obviously it is very improtant that this timer keeps working to prevent the plumbing from freezing. After running perfectly for the summer the timer lost its programming in February with the screen flashing "12:00".
As I was 5 hours away I managed to get my local elecrtician to go to the cottage and reset the time and reprogram the timer after which it operated perfectly, despite several power interruptions, until the next February when it did exactly the same thing.
As the timer was out of warrenty I purchased a replacement and took the time to install EMF shielding around the installed timer but now the replacement has now done exactly the same thing.
The electrician who reset the timer for me mentioned that he had installed several of the same timers for use with dock bubblers and that most of them had failed in the same way.
I guess I'm looking for a reliable replacement.

Had two of the Tork SS720A / SS720AA installed on 4 Sept 2013 with two new panasonic bathroom fans as part of an ongoing energy efficient upgrade project in my home.

It is very difficult to set the date, time, and programming features. The installer thought it was his stubby fingers (his words). The next day, I tried to set everything. The instructions are clear and easy to follow so I know that's not the problem. The problem is the buttons rarely engage any change. Thinking maybe my fingers weren't depressing the buttons precisely, I used the blunt end of a small hard object to depress the buttons. Still, I wasted a lot of time getting those buttons to move from one thing to the next (such as from day to day, one hour to the next, one minute to the next, program to program). After a very frustrating experience of getting the time set and a couple of programs for on/off cycles, I noticed that the clock on it loses approx 7 minutes per hour.

Exact same problem with the second unit.

Reluctant to try a replacement. Will ask the installer to use a different brand.

Verified Purchase
I got 2pcs from my electrician and 2pcs from amazon. Keys are small, but Programming is rather easy. After several months the program doesn't work properly any more. Reset is not helping either. Finally I have to replace them with sensor bulbs.

Do not purchase this product if you are looking for reliability or ease of use.
My unit failed totally at 6 months.
Reference to difficulty in setting is being kind.
There is "NO" memory backup if there is a power loss.
You cannot use anything on the line again until you re-program the timer.
As referenced in other reviews - if you want reliability you better look for another product.
Wish I had reviewed comments before purchasing.
