Tormenting, Hellish, Deicidal Death Metal,
By Ronald Placeres "Chulo" (Miami, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In Torment in Hell (Audio CD)
This is another great Deicide album in my collection. I brought it somewhere in the fall of 2001. With this album, it was the same episode that I had with Insineratehym. I didn't have the mechanism to download MP3's. So I had to wait until the album is released. Lets also not forget that like before with Insineratehym, there was a lot of bad hype going around about this album as well. Some said that the album was a little better than Insineratehym and some just throught that it was no-good alltogether but it all turned out to be just that, worthless hype. So I get this album on the day of its release and I take it home and listen to it and like always, Deicide delivers again.
Now for my review. This is Deicide's last album on Roadrunner Records and despite what people have said about it, Deicide goes out with a bang. This album is just as good as any Deicide album. The heaviness, brutality, intensity, aggression and evil still remain. Some of the songs are slow, medium-paced and fast but it's all Deicide. There's also those killer riffs, solos and blast beats as well as those Anti-Christian and Anti-Religious lyrics as only Deicide can deliver them. All in all, it's a great Deicide album. Some of my favorite songs here are In Torment In Hell, Christ Don't Care, Vengeance Will Be Mine, Child Of God, Let It Be Done and Worry In The House Of Thieves which is my favorite. Get this album or you'll be the one tormented in Hell.

Meh...,

Deicide is still my one if favorite bands. This album is not like Once upon the cross, but then again isnt supposed to be. bands are allowed to change, as long as they stay true to their roots there is no reason for people to complain. This is a different deicide cd, accept it, stop comparing it to their earlier stuff. This album really isnt all that bad if you stop comparing it. It's heavy, its satanic, i dont know why very few people like it. Just go buy it and dont compare it to their first three albums, i swear you wont think this is crap.

Great Death Metal Album,
By A Customer
This review is from: In Torment in Hell (Audio CD)
Just got done playing this album again and its great, not quite as good as their self titled debut or "Once Upon The Cross" but a great death metal record by any means. "Vengeance Will Be Mine" has plenty of savage death metal riffs all fans will appriciate, one of the more technical songs too. "Worry In The House Of Thieves" is already a Deicide classic and always goes over well live, definately one of the highlights of the album. The title song does plenty of damage too, the prank phone call at the beginning to Bob Larson is hilarious!! The production is more raw and brutal than before but thats fine by me, if you liked the rawness of their Amon demos, you'll love this one, go pick it up!! Hail Deicide!!!
