Her female intuition told her he was a dog but yet and still she lent him her soul, gave him her heart and allowed herself to fall in love. Torn between infatuation, lust, denial and playing wifey, the only thing Mo knows for sure is that she's been through hell, survived nine years, three miscarriages, numerous flings, heated arguments and a few knock-down drag-out fights only to realize she is further deep in love and more confused than ever. Come join National Best Selling Author Keisha Ervin as she spins a classic tale about loving someone so much you lose yourself, only to find in the end that what you thought was real love was just a game.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Torn follows the bittersweet relationship between lovestruck Mo and eternal-playboy Quan. The line between right and wrong in their relationship is hazy because Mo and Quan have invested nearly a decade of love, time and money in each other. Although the fruits of Quan's hustling is visible in the expensive house, cars and clothes, Mo would trade it all for a true bond of love from his heart to hers.

Mo's father and her friends, Quan's mother, and even Mo's own intuition tell her to move on, but her desire for Quan controls her actions. Quan, on the other hand, knows he isn't right, yet explodes at the very thought of Mo possibly being unfaithful. Their relationship is simultaneously passionate and pathetic, keeping you absorbed page after page. While they are saying Yes, yes, yes! , you will be cringing and saying, No, no, no! When you add baby-momma-drama, shady friends and other love interests, Mo and Quan are forced to make life-changing decisions that will test whether or not they are soul mates.

Keisha Ervin's latest spin on love, life and lies is nothing less than incredible. Torn is street literature in its finest form. Keisha Ervin has written a story transcends its environment. Gunshots, crackheads and drug lords have been replaced with the sleepless nights, the phone calls that need to be taken in private and heart-to-heart advice that may hit home for some of the readers. There is even guest appearances by sisters Mina and Meesa, from Keisha Ervins's National Best Selling Novels Mina's Joint and Me & My Boyfriend respectively.

Keisha Ervin's Torn has added on to her remarkable repertoire and is a yet another Best Seller in the making, following Chyna Black, Me & My Boyfriend, Mina's Joint and Hold U Down. If you came across After The Storm in Triple Crown's second anthology Street Love, Torn is the breathtaking expansion on that short story. This is not book for quick consumption like an item off the dollar menu. Instead, this book is full of substance, a tale that you will not mind taking time to read and digest. --Joey Pinkney, Freelance Writer

4.0 out of 5 stars I Can't Let Go", October 13, 2007

Wow...I will be the first to say i can relate to the story line in this book. After I read the book I just laughed to myself and said wow this story seemed to be about me and a relationship I was once in. So I could relate to how Mo felt about Quan. and the almost 10 Yrs. relationship they were in. Even with all the affairs, the arguments and yes a few knock-down drag out fights Mo and Quan felt they were in love with each other and were determined to make it work. But how much "make up sex" and "baby I'm sorry" can a relationship stand? And how much hurt will you cause each other before you decide it's time to call it quits and move on. Is it really love or just you are determined no one else is going to take your place and be with your no good man cause we in love (LoL). It's funny how we are afraid to move on until we do and that's when you see all the wrong that was in a relationship and than say "Damn I went through that Bulls**t!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Keisha Ervin is the REAL DEAL!!!!, October 3, 2007
This review is from: Torn (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
I finally read the book I've been dying to read!!!! Boy ole Boy, it was well worth the wait. Torn is off the "MF" meter!!!

This book is dangerous. It had me memorized for three days. I was up all night and going to work very tired cause I just couldn't put it down. I was drawn to Mo's and Quan's story. I was very emotional right along with Mo. ...Talk about an emotional roller coster!!! My heart went out to her. Quan... such a dog!!! But, he had me fooled for a while too. On some parts I felt like Mo, "maybe they could work it out even though he didn't deserve her"! It was just something about him (LOL). But, Boss... OMG is all I can say (Read the book)!!! I don't want to ruin the story for those who haven't read it yet. So, I will stop right there. All I got to say is Keisha Ervin is the Queen of Urban Fiction Novels, NO DOUBT! This book has sealed the deal for me. She has 5 books that are FIRE!!!! I love her work!

If you haven't read all of her books, I really can't understand what are you waiting for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Torn could've been Torn in Half :-), September 29, 2009
This review is from: Torn (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
As always Keisha Ervin did her thing in presenting us with a very realistic portrayal of a drama filled dysfunctional immature relationship built on materialistic things and lots of mind twisting make up sex. Read on as you follow the on again, off again, I love you today, hate you tomorrow, relationship of Mo & Quan. Once a sweet girl and even though well educated...... All Mo knows is being wifey to Quan, shopping and living the lavish life. Always a bad boy with deep pockets.......All Quan knows is he loves getting paper, buying Mo's affection, ensuring she keeps his good girl image and sleeping around in the streets. Put them together for 9 long years....three miscarriages, non stop arguments, baby mama drama, lots of abuse and you have "Torn". Mo just can't phantom her life without Quan so read on as she battles with herself on whether to stay or leave. Awesome story line but all in all............ Torn could've been torn in half and still have had the same affect but the lesson learned is good things come to those who wait :-)
