Product Description

Tornado Siren is a love story between two outsiders drawn together by the simple beauty and deadly destruction lurking on the Great Plains.

It all begins with footprints...

Tornado researcher Victoria Thomas discovers an impossible set of footprints in a muddy field near Memphis. They indicate that a man walked away unharmed after being engulfed by the full fury of a twister. A year later, Victoria finds an identical set of mysterious tracks in Kansas and becomes obsessed with finding this odd wanderer. His existence challenges her very conception of reality.

When she finally does find Ben Fulgar, Victoria can't believe her own eyes or his improbable story. She'll risk her life to prove to herself that the world operates according to rational rules. During their adventures on the prairie, their relationship intensifies into a love that will be challenged by the ultimate forces of nature.

Tornado Siren is a really fine novel. The story, with its fascinating protagonist, picked me up and didn't set me down until the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply delightful, February 21, 2011
This review is from: Tornado Siren, a love story (Kindle Edition)
Wow. Simply put, "Tornado Siren" is a great book! It is a nice mix of relationships, weather, science, geography, adventure, and, oh yes, romance. Nicely done! The author is an accomplished playwright (I have seen several of his works performed), and his first novel reflects his considerable wordsmithing skills and his unique ability in weaving a story on a basic framework and then letting the characters evolve in the reader's mind. He has produced a delightful novel, and now we can look forward to his next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Stormchaser for the Ages, February 21, 2011

... which is more true than I'll go into, for fear of ruining the plot! First, disclaimer: I know Pat personally, and I think he's a great writer. Even without the connection, though, I'd recommend this novel. The combination of grounded detail, a strong sense of character and relationships, and a plot that takes off in truly unexpected directions makes for a fun, zippy read. Although I tend not to be one for story assumptions that depart conventional reality, Pat pulls it off in TORNADO. I was happy to go along for the ride, and I encourage you to try it too.
