Have had two other brands and these Toro pruners are the best. Very easy to use, I am 69 and they make cutting large branches so easy for my old hands.

Bought these less than a year ago and they served me very well. They'll cut through almost anything woody. Just the other day I was trying to cut through a *really* thick branch. Probably shouldn't have been doing that anyway and I broke the handle. I'm pretty sure it was my fault but I threw them away before realizing there was a lifetime warranty. But I bought 'em again. Apart from that. No complaints.

I have been gardening for nearly twenty years. I am a serious gardener which means that I do a lot of heavy pruning, trimming, and shearing, also. Translation...I do not plant a few annuals in a pot and call myself a gardener. These pruners are the best that I've ever owned. They require nearly NO effort on my part in order to cut through some very thick branches, etc. I recommend it!!

I have owned other ratchet pruners and this one works the best. Easy to grip and squeeze. I have gone up to 3/4" diameter but I wouldn't recommend trying to see how thick you can cut with these. Very good for small stuff.

This is the 2nd pair of these I have purchased. After extended use, the ratcheting mechanism sort of wears out & doesnt' work quite right. I tried lubricating the mechanism but it didn't seem to help much. Maybe when brand new you should lubricate with a non sticky type lube regularly, WD 40 or Teflon spray, NOT oil.

Have not used these new pruning shears for very long, but they appear to work as well or better than the other brand that I had been purchasing. The reason for trying these, was to see if their ratcheting mechanism held-up any better; they are about the same in strength, good for branches up to one-half inch in diameter. One other item of note: these shears are made of aluminum, while the others are made of a composite material; don't know which is better as yet. Generally, I used these pruners to cut-up the small twigs and branches, the residue from my pruning trees with loppers, to put in the trash barrel; many thousands of cuts each year, and these pruners usually last about two-three years of this useage.

Works very good and the frist time I used used it little pin came out and then it wouldn't work. I called toro and they said they didn't have any repair parts but they would send me a new pair, thought that was very fair. Thanks Jay O
