5.0 out of 5 stars Toro Spring Bucket
If you are looking for one off these collapsable containers, this is the one to get. Its constructed out of heavy/durable material and quite well built. The thing that makes the Torro unit much better than the Fiskars offering is its much larger size. The smaller Fiskars unit may be better suited for Grandma. The price bounces around so get it when its on sale.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but does NOT have a shoulder strap
This is a nicely constructed product - looks like it will last for some time. As the other reviewers have said, it is a very handy tool to have for yard cleanup, and it collapses down quickly and easily for storage.

I'm really happy with this. I line it with a large plastic lawn/garden bag which fits well. There are holes in the bottom which let the air out so the plastic bag can expand easily. This also helps prevent the plastic bag from coming off the rim when I throw debris in. It's very sturdy, and of course it collapes for easy storage.

It does NOT, however, come with a shoulder strap as noted in the photo and description. I ordered one from Amazon. It arrived in fine shape, was 100% new and unused, but no strap! I returned it, and re-ordered another. The replacement also lacked a strap. The product info sheet that comes with the item makes no mention of a strap, so I imagine Toro stopped including one to save costs.

The lack of a strap is not a deal-breaker for my purposes, but it would be a handy addition. If you order one, keep in mind that you will not get the strap.

1.0 out of 5 stars quality changed to inferior products, March 21, 2010

I have one of the original buckets that Toro put out about 6+ yrs ago. I bought it at Home Depot. Now, HD doesn't carry them anymore, so when I saw it on Amazon, I bought it. The "new," bucket is a sign of the times; made somewhere like China, and created from inferior materials relative to the original. The siding material on the original was canvas, and the spring was much, much more durable; the diameter of the metal in the coil was almost double. This stronger spring enable the bag to stand on it's own, especially with a full bag inside. The new one starts to "collapse," slightly when the bag starts getting full. In addition, the old bag would "hold the load," when you started filling, and if some got caught on the edge. The new bag collapses like a wet noodle. I paid the exact same price for both. The bag was easier to get out of the newer one, as my older one would create more vacuum. In fact, the bottom fell out of my older one, actually making it easier when the bag's full to lift the hoop over....all in all, I guess my expectations were to get a bag just like my original...but, didn't. I believe the weaker spring should be upgraded to the original.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Useful, March 31, 2006

Strong, sturdy and well built. Many others I have seen are flimsy - not this one. Used it for my spring clean up chores and plan on using it all summer

The clips that hold this container together when collapsed are superior to the competition's toggles and the less rigid stance allows it to be used with a 33-gallon bag as well as a larger one without the bag pulling off the rim. When a larger bag is used and the container is getting full, you can pull it up to its full height so it holds more than it appears it will at first. This makes it more versatile and my son-in-law, the recipient of the gift, could immediately see many uses, from tailgate parties and camping, to inside uses, as well as yard waste collection, its advertised function. I can say that it was immediately put to use to contain Christmas wrapping paper, discarded gift boxes, etc., and did a fine job of keeping our gift exchange area tidy. After that, it contained a couple of grandchildren during play, then helped haul all the booty to the car. It was definitely a hit.

I had to laugh at another reviewer's comment about the smaller 30-gallon Fiskars product being for 'grandma'. Well, I am grandma and I bought the 30-gallon unit for myself, so he's right. This unit is more commodious, but still stores in a small space when collapsed. It's going to get a lot of use both inside and out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Toro Gardening Buckets, October 24, 2008
This review is from: Toro 29210 43-Gallon Gardening Spring Bucket (Lawn & Patio)
I love my collapsible Toro Gardening Totes. As a Master Gardener I find these invaluable to the amount of clearing out and hauling away that I to do at the end of the growing season, as since I live in North Dakota, there's plenty of that to do as we don't have a large variety of perennials that can make it through the winter and I like LOTS of plants and color during our short growing season. I initially bought 4 of these totes and plan on buying 4 more next year.

This is a nice bucket. I use it when I am gardening, trimming trees, etc. I didn't give it 5 stars because as you fill it up, if you've lined it with a trash bag/leafbag, it tends to be a little difficult to get the bag out without tearing. Other than that, I think it's fine. I have purchased two of these - one for me and one for my mom!

I use the Toro spring bucket when we go camping. It collapses for easy storage in our tent trailer. I've purchased 6 of these because everyone who sees this thing in our campsite wants one. At this price, and the quality of the item, it just can't be beat. The large size is a big plus. Don't know why anyone would want or need a shoulder strap with this item, it's just to big, with the four handles who would need a strap?
