This book is OK for the info but do not confuse it with a step-by-step guide to rebuld your stock trans. It has no index and the emphasis is on racing applications ('Cuda funny cars on the cover installation). There are so many variations through the years; it can't give you much specific info (the book states this repeatedly). It is hardly the "master reference" it claims to be.

I don't know what this last comment was all about but I think the book was awesome. I have never been able to find another book that even comes close to this book.

The book will not rebuild your transmission...if you think it will you are mistaken. But if you are mechanical and you would like to try and build the trans yourself ...you would be mistaken if you didn't have this as a reference while you were doing it. OR if you just wanted to know about the operation of the trans and how it is supposed to work ...this is the book

However if you are looking for a great reference on what and how to build a transmission this book is the way to go. I had to buy the book for a friend when I was helping a friend with his car. I didn't know much about these units and I thought the book was a great reference. There are no other books of its kind available

This is an excellent book and how to make one of the best automatic transmissions ever made, even better. However I recomend doing at least one standard torqueflite rebuild before venturing into some of the modifactions that are shown in the book. The torqueflite is one of the easist automatics to overhaul and a very durable transmission. Information is this book is meant for people with some experience with this transmission.

This book is a huge asset to those who work on these and rebuild them. Years worth of technical information is compiled and shared in this book. Good torquflite mechanics may be pretty easy to find, but finding one with that has all the knowledge in this book are not.

This was purchased for a friend and he thought it was great! Most backyard mechanics won't take on rebuilding a transmission, but if you are so inclined, it has all the answers.

Good information that you don't get in any service books. If your going to modify a Torqueflite, you need this book!

This is the book you need to rebuild a torque flite727 automatic transmission. The book is well written and well illustrated. The book covers from early dual pump (front pump and rear pump) transmissions to late model (front pump) transmissions. This book allowed my son and myself to rebuild his 1965 TF 727 in 3 weekends.

The book has all the information that I was hoping for although it is going to take some time to read all the information.

This book was very in depth with good illustrations. I have never rebuilt an automatic transmission. I don't know if I will attempt to or not, after reading this book. The instructions were good and I think a person could get it done with the book as an "instruction manual". I only wish they would have included the "how to" of installing a transbrake and what is required for different horspower/torque. What would stand up to 800 HP and what would not.

This is a very well written book that covers just about anything you'd ever want to do to a 727. I highly recommend it.

i found this book to be helpful in understanding how the torqueflite works. from a basic rebuild to race performance upgrades this book covers it all. if you have little, or no understanding of how an automatic trans works and are looking to rebuild your trans to handle a high performance engine, you will want to re-read several chapters.
