Excellent guide book: details the trekking circuit of the park, both the complete circuit of 10 days or so and the shorter 'W' circuit of 4 to 5 days. Describes the refugios and the campsites, terrain, weather and everything that a good guide book should do. We are planning an unguided trek of the 'W' circuit and this bok was most helpfull

This is a decent guide for planning a hiking trip to Torres del Paine. It emphasizes the full circuit around the massif. Great if that's your plan, but if you plan to do day hikes, I'd consider another guidebook. I found it poorly organized and lacking in details. One of the most popular hikes in the park, to the Mirador Las Torres, is more difficult than described in the book, which does not clearly show the elevation gain for each hike, or state that the final section of that hike is in fact a fairly steep scramble up and around big boulders.

While this looks like a great guide overall, it doesn't look like anyone proofread it. Stage 4 of the "W" for Torres del Paine shows it starting at El Chalten (over 100 miles away) and lists the distance as 38 km, maps for Monte Fitz Roy. The overview for stage 4 is obviously in the wrong section!!!
