Misanthropic, February 24, 2003
This review is from: Torso (Audio CD)
The best way to describe this Boston quartet is slow,
really slow, ultra-doom. I can't get over how heavy some
of this is. Anyone who has their back calalog knows what
I'm talking about. This band has been plagued by line-up
changes, on here it's Jeff Hayward- Guitars, vocals Terry
Savastano- guitars, Eric Harrison- Bass and Randy moved
from bass to Drums on here. Anyone familiar with Disrupt
(ex-members of this band) knows that Randy was the drummer
of that band. Well- it's nice to see on the first 2 tracks
flow very well. The instrumental "I hate Lucy" is an instant
classic. Some of the guitar soloing is very 70's inspired.
Otherwise this disc is a heavy, pissed off, mind trip of a
cd. It also introduces some guitar harmonies that're better
demonstrated on their next disc- ...and man will become the hunted. Which is alot like this one but better. The highlights
are definetly Jeff's vocals which have definetly come into it's
own, think Mike of EYEHATEGOD but harsher. Also, Frief seems to have a certain knack for playing an ocassional up-tempo 'shuffle' every now and then. Overall- a good disc that has one or two songs that I skip personally.

Ultra-sludge from ex-disrupt members..., December 24, 2001
This review is from: Torso (Audio CD)
Painfully slow, torturous sludge-metal from ex-disrupt members. The music can only be described as "A slow orgy of noise". It's real head music. The new CD,"and man will be the hunted.." is also really good. Get this one, though. It's really awesome!
