Tort Law for Legal Assistants,
By Beverly D. Miller (San Mateo, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tort Law for Legal Assistants (West Legal Studies) (Hardcover)
Tort Law for Legal Assistants is a must for any civil litigation paralegal. I selected it based upon its table of contents, and it delivers. It is a clear, concise overview of tort law that provides reasoning, theories, relationships, elements, effects, limitations, applications, and much more. I wish I had known about this book during my paralegal training classes. At least I have it now as a review tool and reference guide for assignments as a paralegal.

A must for Torts and even Civil Procedure,
This review is from: Tort Law (Hardcover)
I had this book for my class on Torts and it is a very good book for learning about Torts and even Civil Procedure. The book has a detailed Table of Contents and each chapter has a page describing what it will cover. The chapters have cases to help with the topic it is "teaching" and the different kinds of torts, intentional, negligenc, and strict liabilty. The torts are defined extremely well and Civil Procedure, from the demand letter to post trial motions, are described in detail. I took Torts before I took Civil Litigation and I already know at least half of the course. This book is excellent for learning about Torts and basic Civil Procedure.

Torts Law Book Used for Pre-Law Classes,

This review is from: Tort Law (Hardcover)
I purchased this book for a college class in concern to the Law of Torts. I was specifically concentrating on Florida law, but nonetheless this book was very helpful. It has many examples and "teasers" as they're called in the book, that help you to understand the concepts of law more fully. However, as my professor (a doctor of law) pointed out on many occasions, the book sometimes gives examples with incorrect answers. The law is updated every time a court ruling is put out, I know, but some of the teaser "answers" seem to not go along with the known law based on given facts. It's a great book, don't get me wrong. Most examples are excellent knowledge boosters, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about Torts Law.

This review is from: Tort Law (Hardcover)
This is a very good introduction to Tort Law that was used in my paralegal program. It is very thorough but generally easy to understand and absorb. I found some of the cases that were included to be long and complicated. However, once I took the time to slog through them, I found them relevant to the topic being covered and worth reading in the end. The chapters are long and the material is dense but I was never bored nor confused by the presentation. I would recommend this textbook for paralegal programs.

This is a great textbook for a Tort Law class. The subjects are covered with comparison charts, court cases and easy to understand explanations of the subject matter. The authors did a very good job at writing a textbook that is not only educational but very interesting as well. At the end of each chapter is a very thorough test.

Interesting because the author writes many interesting and funny hypotheticals. It's a great book for those interested in torts. In my case, it's a book assigned to me by my professor so I really have no choice :).

Not quite the condition I expected,

This review is from: Tort Law for Legal Assistants (West Legal Studies Series) (Hardcover)
The shipping was kinda slow, the communication wasn't that great, and the book wasn't in that great of condition. Lots of highlighting. However, to have gotten a textbook I needed for such a good price, somewhat makes up for that...not completely but somewhat.

Not A Satisfy Customer,
This review is from: Tort Law for Legal Assistants (West Legal Studies Series) (Hardcover)
I must say that I am very upset with purchasing an item that was never shipped to me. I filed a complaint with Amazon and have yet to here from them. Very disappointed. I would like the full amount of my money back, I do not have money to throw away and if this is how Amazon threat its customer, I will never purchase anything from Amazon again.
