5.0 out of 5 stars Very insightful, July 26, 2011

This review is from: Torts Stories (Law Stories) (Paperback)
I have not finished reading this yet, but I have had trouble putting it down. For a law book that's really unusual. Basically the main idea of the book, to me, is that it takes a bunch of torts cases that are covered in most 1L torts classes but tells the larger stories. Torts is infamous for boiling away the human element and focusing on "was their a duty that was neglected, was their proximate cause, etc..." but this book, which is very accessible, humanizes the issue and, by so doing, forces any torts student to consider the larger consequences of how we conduct torts litigation. I recommend it for even non law students.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Perspective, June 13, 2011
I really appreciated this book in my torts class. It helped me realize how the cases we read in the books often only tell a part of the story. Since I want to be a plaintiffs attorney, hearing the full stories of the plaintiffs in our cases and how the courts did (or didn't) consider certain facts about their injuries was helpful.

This is a decent book, and if it's on your required reading list then go for it. If you're just after the back story, stick with wikipedia.
