More About the Author

I just published my twelfth novel titled When an Echo returns. My publisher is Bella/Spinster Books, who also publish my time travel series, Across Time.
I have been writing for 20 years. I wrote 4 horrid novels when I was younger...until someone asked me why I didn't write cop stories, since I had been one way back in the dark ages. I fought that urge, not being a mystery reader at the time and because police work was not a match for me. Instead, I took my Masters in English to education and I have been a teacher for the majority of my life. I prefer to touch young lives rather than arrest them. Nonetheless, one day, Delta Stevens sprang into my head, as well as my heart, and so I wrote. And wrote. And the next thing I knew...there she was, and there a publisher was, and there was the beginning of my writing career and my love of the irascible Delta Stevens. Like a love affair that sneaks up on you, Delta and her cast of characters came into my life, changing me forever. Perhaps it was Delta, maybe it was writing itself, but my life transformed dramatically.

Publishers have come and gone as the industry has changed dramatically. With Borders and Barnes and Nobles pushing out the smaller bookstores, smaller presses went with them...and so ended my publishers and Delta.
But I kept on writing...and now, I have published 10 novels in a variety of genres.

The Delta Stevens Mystery Series are now back in eBook format. You can purchase those from Bella Books as well.

Teaching & Traveling
Traveling also aids in my teaching world. I have been a teacher for 23 years, teaching everything from 4th grade to college, and I now teach at an American Military University online. I love teaching online, and teach everything from early American and British Lit, to Sci-Fi/Fantasy Lit, to World Lit.

When I'm not teaching, I am traveling all over the place, and just recently returned from a trip in Egypt, where I did research for the third in the Across Time series. Travel is my muse, and I see her as often as I can.
I guess, in short, I have a great time and a wonderful life, and I've told people that I want my headstone to read "She lived an enviable life." I guess that's what I want for the people I love...for them to live the kind of life they envision...to write if that's what they want, to be a farmer if that is the life for them...to do and be what they dream because I am living proof that dreams come true. After ten published novels, I have a new dream, and I'm making steps every day to make that one come true.

5.0 out of 5 stars A glance into the fires of hell and the power of love, September 13, 2002

This review is from: Tory's Tuesday (Paperback)
Tory's Tuesday is a glimpse at a time and place we must never forget and a love that could never die. We've all heard of the atrocities of the Nazi Holocaust, but it always seems to be distant. It's almost unreal to people in the modern age. Tory's Tuesday brings the true horror to life but balances it with a love between two women that overpowers even the Nazi's stranglehold on life and death. This book tells of the horrid conditions, daily slaughters, and evil cruelty that the men and women of the death camps had to endure. The pain suddenly seems all too real, as the two women watch friends and family die in grusome and inhumane ways. It takes the sheer force of their love for each other to survive this hell. It's a love that is unconditional in nature and innocent as a newborn. It's truly humbling to read this and realize that we have the potential for such bloodthirsty actions. I had never read anything by this author before this book, but I will certainly be looking for more of her work now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Painfully realistic, July 11, 2004
This review is from: Tory's Tuesday (Paperback)
Wow. I finished this book in 1 day. As a Jew it was hard for me to read about horrors that went on, as a woman and a lesbian I was proud to be part of the same community these characters belong to. I cannot even imagine the amount of love and bravery it took to survive. You must read this book if just to have a glance at our history but you will find so much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars very touching story, May 10, 2009
This review is from: Tory's Tuesday (Paperback)
This book is definitely one of my favorites!!! It's realistic, sad, and interesting. The writer does such an outstanding job of portraying the hardships that the characters experience that anyone who has a heart will cry while reading this book.
