4.0 out of 5 stars Buisness As Usual...
I'm not going to jump on anyone who gave a lame review, cause different people have different tastes. G-unit is hot (still), but they're not the best. What some people need to understand is it's not even about that anymore. I say that because I can't compare a product like this to the "ringtone" era, which is "killing" me and all music by the minute. This album does...

First things first, Young Buck appears on a few tracks on this album, and therefore counts as a guest appearance (being that he is no longer in the Unit). 3.0 out of 5 stars G-Unit "T.O.S.: Terminate On Sight"- 3.25 Stars, July 1, 2008
First things first, Young Buck appears on a few tracks on this album, and therefore counts as a guest appearance (being that he is no longer in the Unit). Ok, to start things off, if you are not a fan of "typical gangster music", then this album is not for you. The album sounds like most of the other music coming out of the G-Unit camp. The lyrics on the album are handled by 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, and Lloyd Banks. Lloyd Banks (usually the best rapper in the group) seems to have lost whatever he had left in his tank. If you listen to his flow and lyrics on his first album, Hunger for More, or even his second release, Rotten Apple, you can hear the difference. 50 Cent sounds the same as usual, except he does a lot of singing (ironic ala Ja Rule beef). Tony Yayo actually sounds better on this album than he did on most of his own solo album. That doesn't mean he's dope, though. The lyrics on here are mostly about guns and women; the whole "gangster" appeal is shown throughout every song. The production is handled by the likes of Swizz Beats (who actually does a decent job compared to his recent works), Rick Rock, Tha Bizness, Polow da Don, and a few others. The production is clubby and made for the ride (it seems); although it does lack in substance and seems typical for this type of album. The guests? Young Buck and Mavado. Mavado provides a vocal chorus for the track "Let It Good", and Young Buck is featured on 4 songs. Buck does better than the members in just about every song he's on. Overall, this album doesn't seem to cut it. Unless, of course, the reason it is being played is for the car or the club. This album is sub par to Beg for Mercy, their previous album. A plus though, the album does get much better when you get near the end. The last few songs are on a higher level then most of the songs in the beginning. If you're not already a fan of G-Unit, this album will not turn you into one. If, however, you are a fan of G-Unit and their gritty style of hip hop, then you should enjoy this album. If you don't listen, but are curious, I'd recommend a download before a buy.

Lyrics- 5.5/10
Production- 7/10
Guest Appearances- 6/10
Overall Sound- 6.5/10

I'm not going to jump on anyone who gave a lame review, cause different people have different tastes. G-unit is hot (still), but they're not the best. What some people need to understand is it's not even about that anymore. I say that because I can't compare a product like this to the "ringtone" era, which is "killing" me and all music by the minute. This album does nothing more than serve as a reminder that true Hip Hop Artists still exist. That's what these guys are. (You can tell, cause their videos are horrible lol). But like them or not, sit back and look at how they operate...like a well oiled machine. In 5 1/2 years they have 10 studio albums between them...11 if you count The Games. Don't even ask me how many mixtapes they have between them; Which finally brings me to the album. They completely bring the raw mixtape vibe. good lyrics that paint pictures (like they're supposed to) supported by sick, pounding loops/beats. Really, nothing fancy at all, but done to perfection./ Real qucik on Young Buck. I'm pissed about the whole thing. To me, he'll always be G-Unit, not just someone signed to G-Unit Records. Bank$ is the sickest though. / Anyhow if you want brief lesson in Hip Hop, something to bump while driving, or something to chill to while playin' pool, pick this up.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that bad, but really not that good, July 30, 2008
G-Unit's second studio album "T.O.S." starts off with a bang. The first track, Straight Outta Southside, is about as good a song as G-Unit has ever put out. An insane beat with great rapping from all on board. However, every other song after this seems to lead a sleepwalk through 60 minutes of boring rap. Yeah, most of the songs are OK, but none of them really excited me. Overall, the beats on the album are good. There's just something about it that doesn't give me the feeling that "Beg for Mercy" did.

I'm sure most G-Unit fans out there will want to kill me for this review, but I am a big G-Unit fan myself. 50's early stuff, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo are all damn good rappers on their own. However, with this much time in between albums, I thought the group could've done a better job at making some great tracks, not some weak ones.

*Update: after further listening, I would probably have rated it 3 stars, but my review stays the same. I still think the strongest parts of the album are Banks and Yayo. The beats are (mostly) good. They just don't put it all together like I expected them to.

2.0 out of 5 stars "Ready or Not......", March 2, 2011

Nekrophile "730 wacko" (At your local cementary) - See all my reviews
Probably the best track on this horrible album. Although, "Piano Man" was pretty good too. And yes, unfortunately I did listen to the whole disc. Too many tracks for the ladies on here, especially during the mid-point of the CD.

Then the CD begins to pick up some momentum at the end on tracks 15, and 16. However, by that point it's too late and the album is basically over.

Even on the few decent tracks, there is too much mentioning of how much money they have and all the nice cars they own. I'm not jealous, I just think that sh@t is played out and boring to hear about. I'd rather hear street anthems along with some nice story telling tracks.

But then again, WTF was I expecting from an 08' G-Unit album.

Overall, a pretty crappy CD. Stick to G-Unit's early-2000's mix tapes for some better material by them.

I'll give the CD a generous 2 stars, because there are 2 or 3 decent songs on here, but you're better off downloading those tracks and putting them onto a mix of other songs.

If you want to shake your booty, then by all means purchase the CD, but I'm not into that stuff, lol....

1.0 out of 5 stars Incinerate on sight (1 and 1/2 stars), October 2, 2008
I could go on about how 50 used to be nice on the mic(back in the How To Rob days) or how Banks used to kill it on the early G-unit mixtapes or how Tony Yayo used to bust a decent verse once in a blue moon but it makes no sense to do that now. On the advent of Game's departure and Young Buck being dropped from the group(I dont care what coast you're from.... we all got agree that 50 made a big mistake right there), G-unit only had one thing to do: prove that they can still stay afloat after all this. Unfortuantely this is not the album that is going to do it. Straight Outta Southside is the best track on the album and it pretty much goes downhill after that. A lot of the beats here suck as well as the hooks. Both 50 and Banks rhymes are phoned in and even the Yayo's rhymes are trash, for some strange reason, he is the only one(out of the remaining members) who has a presense on the mic on this album. Young Buck appears on a few songs and brings some heat but even he cant save this album from being garbage. Piano Man, Rider Pt 2, Close To Me, Party Aint Over, Let It Go, You So Tough stink lyrically and production wise. The title track is flat out weak and anyone bumpin I Like The Way She Do It and Kitty Kat in their whips needs to be slapped senseless. Both of those tracks are straight garbage. Ready Or Not has some decent bars by Lloyd Banks but Yayo and 50 both bring the track down. Money Make The World Go Round has a nice beat but the track suck lyrically.
Bottom Line: Terminate On Sight is even worse than Beg For Mercy(at least that album had five passable tracks). The beats are weak and the rhymes are telegraphed in. Its safe to say that G-unit is on the downslide and this album will get them on the fast track to obscurity a lot quicker than they expected. Two thumbs all the way down
Standouts: STRAIGHT OUTTA SOUTHSIDE.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sorry G-unit/50 lovers this album does not cut it PERIOD!, July 3, 2008

(REAL NAME)
First off I want to start off by saying I am not a 50/Unit hater, I do not like 50 as a person but I love music and will always buy new albums to get my fix when a new one hits stores. Beg for Mercy was by far a great album in every aspect, from the production to the lyrics. Back then Lloyd and Young Buck had no names for themselves yet this being there first album, and Yayo was in prison(Thank God, that guy is the worst hype man ever) But this album is coming off 4 years of fake beefs (Ja,Fat Joe, Jada, Game, Scarface, T.I., Lil Wayne, the list goes on) and the apparent crumble of the "Units" empire. Everyone from Mobb Deep, to Young Buck, and even trashy Oliver... I mean Olivia were all released from 50's label. Thus creating more anticipation and drama leading to T.O.S. release. I must say I was hoping this would be at least half way decent, bottom line, IT IS NOT! With what seems to be a rush to put together some songs after releasing Buck from the label to prove a point that they could make a good album without him, you can tell this is what happened because the couple songs that do feature Buck state on the album Ft. Young Buck... It just lacks in overall sound. It is not only the same lyrics we are all use to hearing on mostly every rap song in the last decade, but it is done over horrible beats with the exception of maybe 3 songs, and done very sloppy on every other level. If I could give this 0 Stars I would, I regret spending money on this album BUT since I am a collector this will go into the cd book and it will sit there, while its counter part Beg For Mercy gets played on occasion.

2.0 out of 5 stars GGGGGG DIDN'T DU IT, July 6, 2008

With all the weak Hip Hop music out today G-Unit latest CD T.O.S just made the rap game even weaker. Their freshman album faired alot better than their current effort. The beats were watered down and very generic. the lyric's were nowhere near G-Unit Standard. Over the past few years i must admit that i've been incredibly disappointed with the Hip Hop artists and material that's been coming out, and i honestly thought when the new G-Unit CD jump off the rap game would return to it's original art form. But to my surprise it totally missed it's mark. Now, i'm left wondering where's Hip Hop going. Will the TRUE Lyricist PLEASE stand up. in the 90's and early 2000's the rap game was flooded with true Beatsmiths like Guru (from Gangstarr) RZA, Track Masters...ect ect. Now you can't even get a descent track from nobody. It really breaks my heart b/c just by reading my review you can simply tell that i'm from the old school where there were so many Hip Hop stars like Slick Rick, Run DMC, Whodini,Salt & Pepa and the list can go on for days. to me it's like Hip Hop doesn't exist. The last song i can remember being crazy about was By you a Drank.........That was a def. club banger. Hopefully, a true star will shine and bring back that flavor we all been missing. The only song worth listening to is Rider pt.2. So what you do is download that joint and call it a day. Peace

2.0 out of 5 stars Beg for Curtis's Massacre, July 31, 2008
Kind of bored of the same material. Has anyone listened to Nas's new album? Nas continues to amaze because you have no idea what the album is like because he continues to innovate and be relevant with culture and society. The whole G-Unit sound is getting tired.

Seriously, how many tracks can you, and why you, would want to make about bustin off your piece? No wonder 50 lost to Kanye.

C'mon 50, take us back to the Guess Who's Back days. Tell stories in an original way. This album is recycled material and good for those aromatherapy machines that play cd's. If you are an insomniac, listen to this album.
