Toshiba 13A25 13" Blackstripe II TV (Silver),

Good picture, nothing spectacular but acceptable. However,
in less than 1 year of average viewing - the tv turns itself off every 5-10 minutes. I would turn it on, and within a few minutes, off it goes. The sleep timer was off and I can't think of any other reason for this malfunction, other than this tv being an inferior product. I just replaced it with a new 13" sony triniton today - the picture is excellent, however too early to report on any long term results.

Good little TV,

I have had this TV for the past two months and it provides a good display and functions such as caption viewing. The remote control is glow in the dark and I appreciate that very much. The TV is also light and has carrying slots at the top.
I have not been able to get the On-timer to work. It simply does not turn on the TV.

Sound Quailty poor speaker located almost under the tv on the front, not stereo sound,no rear av jacks have to dangle wires off the front of tv when hooking stuff up.But the picture is very nice with basic cable and the sliver cabinet is so shiny.

Toshiba must be slipping in quality,

We bought this model of TV during June 2006 to replace a small TV in our kitchen. After four months (the warranty is for 90 days) of very light use, this television fails to turn on. According to a TV repairman, the unit is locking itself into a shut-down mode. The cost to get it looked at and repaired will probably run more than the unit originally cost.
It model seems to be a lemon and should be recalled. Toshiba once made quality TVs, but if they stop working after four months, something must be wrong. We certainly did not get our money's worth in this unit... |
