I have been a Sony TV buyer for many years but when my old Sony 20" TV (KV2092R) died it was time to open up my wallet. I was planning to get another SONY TV but the price was high and my budget was tight. I also decided that 20" size TV wasn't cool for me anymore. I wanted a portable/compact TV and the video resolution quality standard must be high. Researched and visited several electronic stores and I finally found the one -T14AF43 - which is the 3rd gen for this model. Sure it is a step down from my old 20" Sony to 14" but all the advantages for this model made up the size difference. Perfect Price - ... plus free shipping. No setup required. Default Setting - perfect. Standard TV Picture output - Perfect. VCR Video output - Great. DVD -
Excellent. Audio Sound - Fine. Anti-static. Better than a Sony!
Only con is the remote control. I wish the "MEnu" button was in a different area plus if you lose this RControl you'll have trouble managing your Entertainment center.

Pure pleasure! Combined with JVC combo dvd/vcr and the space age uhf hdtv antenna (that's listed in accessories) I'm in heaven with my new "mini" home theatre. Even if you don't have super powerful speakers, the fidelity of the builtin speakers is good and I can use headphones for the "full effect". This is truly an excellent value, the quality is very high. The picture is outstanding. And the price, including the Amazon rebates/coupons that were current at the time, unbelievable. Even without these coupons, this is a great value at the currently listed price.

We usually have trouble with video equipment at our location owing to the proximity of several broadcast towers interfering with the cable signal. This TV handles that problem better than any other TV or VCR we own.

Excellent picture, well-shielded tuner, good price. What else do you need?

I wanted a small tv, this one is great! It has a nice sharp picture and the remote with it is nice! I use it to play Gamecube also - I am satisfied with the tv, no complaints so far and the price is reasonable for the 14" set

I am in a small apartment now and until I find a house I didn't want to add to my A/V equipment...due to murphy's law my Sharp 13" I have for several years died (remote fetched $20 on ebay though :) ).

This TV would have to sit on the dresser....16.5" deep was the most room I had.

The Toshiba fits perfect...I wish I could have gotten the 20" or 24", but this works out good. There are a ton of video inputs and outputs, sound quality is good and the picture outstanding. This will make the perfect kitchen TV once I have the house situated.

The screen is flat as can be and the remote glows in the dark for a long time after the lights go out (not as nice as the actual lighted one from my Toshiba CX32G60 from 1997 which still works perfectly, but definitely does the job).

The price, combined with free shipping and $50 in amazon coupons I earned christmas shopping here made it a STEAL, it's $170-190 everywhere here. My price less than $100!

My brother bought this tv in 2003 and I inherited it from him in 2006. I've lugged it around the US, from Illinois to Pennsylvania to Minnesota (and likely to some other state shortly). Throughout all this time, the tv has served me well.

For one thing, the picture quality is excellent. It's not wide-screen 16:9, but the colors are vivid, and images are sharp. This tv handles standard definition video much better than any similarly-sized LCD; I get my tv from a coax cable, but I was using a digital converter box for a while, and with either setup, the picture quality is great.

Second, the tv is the perfect size for small apartments or a bedroom. If you move around a lot, it's nice that you can easily lift and transport this tv with little effort.

Third, the sound is pretty good. Not great, but not tinny either.

Lastly, this tv has audio/video inputs (for external devices) both in the front and the back, which is convenient.

I'm hoping to use this tv for at least a few more years, until 16:9 tvs all but become a requirement.

This little television has served me well over the years. Nice picture and audio with cable. I have never tried it with an antenna. One thing that impresses me about it is the array of inputs and outputs Toshiba put on it. The front A/V jacks on a TV this small is a nice touch, but the 2 sets of A/V in and, most remarkably, the A/V OUT jacks on the back are truly a rarity in such a small TV. I couldn't believe it when I saw them. Because of the A/V out, I was able to use this TV in a video editing setup for several year. It also has component and S-video inputs. Now it is a guest room TV but it's still going strong.

I needed a small, lightweight TV that could double as an emergency late-night Playstation screen as well as a 2nd video monitor for my computer. I do a lot of work with video and have 2 screens and a broadcast monitor, but I wanted a "regular, every-day TV" to preview footage on as well. This little TV does the job perfectly! Excellent picture, super easy setup, terrific price. There are few TVs in this price arena that have all the inputs this one does... And I can easily tote in anywhere in the house [garage, basement, kitchen] when necessary.

I received this television with high hopes, based on the other glowing reviews I read here. But this tv must have been a lemon, because after two hours of trying to set it up (explicitly following the directions in the user's manual), I got neither sound nor a picture. It is being returned today.
