We have an older version of this TV in our kitchen which we were very happy with, and I wanted to replace an old television in my bedroom, so I looked first at Toshibas. The video quality is very good, and the sound issues that some people had with older models seem to have been resolved. The DVD player works great so far. My only (minor) complaints are that the screen can get a good amount of glare depending on how it is angled, and it also seems to attract a lot of dust, I feel like I am constantly cleaning it! I feel like this is a very good value for the money. I looked at similar TV/DVD combos and none had the picture quality or styling that this Toshiba has.

I have an older Toshiba combo 19 inch TV which performed well except for the sound. The volume was very poor. This new unit performs very well and the sound is very good. I am very pleased with this unit.

The Toshiba 22CV100U 22-inch t.v. was purchased to update an older t.v. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old t.v., I just had had it for years and decided I wanted a dvd player in my bedroom. The difference in reception was amazing! I had no idea that the picture could be so much clearer.

After another night of the same remote issues...I've had it. I returned the TV/DVD combo back to Amazon since it was still within the return window. Instead, I purchased the VIZIO M220NV from Target through Amazon. It arrived today, set it up, and looks way better than the Toshiba (minus the built in DVD player, but I recently purchased a PS3 and the "older" bluray player has moved into the bedroom). I wouldn't bother with this unit. I hope this helps people.

After watching a few DVD movies, I noticed that the TV stops responding to remote control input after about 30 minutes. I cannot adjust volume, track or switch to TV mode from the remote or the Cable remote. Also, when watching TV, after a while only the channel can be changed using the Cable remote. It's not until after I physically turn the unit off from the TV power button that remote responds again when I turn it back on.
Does anybody experience this? Have you found a solution?
It becomes inconvenient when we want to watch a movie before we sleep and the lights are off and we're under the covers, and have to get up, turn the lights on, go to the TV and make adjustments/turn it off...this is why I dropped a star from three to two. If there is a solution, I will put that third star up again.

I was looking for a TV for my bedroom that's a space saver and that's affordable. I could have gone with the stand-alone HDTV but had to get a Blu-Ray/DVD player along with it. So I opted for the Toshiba 22-inch HDTV/DVD combo.
I have to say, It's the perfect size for our room and the combo saves us extra space where a disc player would have been.
The cable from my room is standard definition, so most shows are only 480i and pixelated. This is not a knock on the Toshiba, but on my cable service. DVDs plays quickly and very sharp. Sound is pretty flat from the TV, like what other reviewers have mentioned. That's why I connected my computer speakers with subwoofer on it, and now it sounds great.
The only thing that I have to complain about is the contrast for tv viewing. Specifications shows it at 800:1. No matter how much I tweak the visual settings, I cannot get the brightest brights and the darkest darks distinguished enough.
The purpose for this HDTV purchase was for a bedroom TV with DVD player so I can pop in a movie before bed and cuddle with my wife. For that, it has succeeded.
If I wanted to watch the basketball or football games with friends, I go to the living room where I can watch it in HD on my 46".

We purchased this TV to place in our 3 year old daughter's bedroom. The stand was already attached to the TV which was a pleasant surprise. With the click of a latch the stand was in place and allowed adequate adjustment up/down. The picture quality was adequate for it's intended purpose and sound was only okay but a little tinnier than the Insignia that we bought for our son's bedroom last Christmas. The really disappointing "feature" of this Toshiba model was the built-in DVD player. It was loud, and when I say loud I mean LOUD. It made a mechanical sound when moving around and getting ready to start the movie that was just awful and took way too long to start any DVD inserted. Once the DVD was playing, the volume had to be turned up to at least 50% in order to hear the audio over the humming noise of the DVD player at a distance of 8 feet from the TV. My daugher was super disappointed to find her TV removed and immediately placed back into it's box for return to Amazon on the same day she had received it as an early Christmas gift. I am at a loss as there seems to be no good reputable brand name TV's on the market this Christmas with the built-in DVD feature which is desirable for a bedroom where we don't want a bunch of extra components stacking in the corner. I wish Best Buy still sold the 22" and/or 26" Insignia models with built-in DVD because we are very pleased with the models that have apparently been discontinued at Best Buy.

I was looking for a 22" or 26" HDTV/DVD combo for our bedroom. I checked out the Toshiba 22" (22CV100U) and 26" (26CV100U) models at a local electronics store and found the 22" to have a horrible viewing angle when looking up at the screen (the other viewing angles were great: downward and side-to-side) The screen gets really shadowy when viewing it from even just a little bit beneath face-on. The 26" model does not have this problem!! It looked great from all viewing angles, though I wasn't able to test looking downward onto the screen. If you're like me and are planning to mount the TV high on a wall for viewing from bed, you should go with the 26" (or larger) or make sure your mount can angle it enough so that you're not going to be looking at it from beneath the screen. Luckily for me this made my decision easy as to which one to order from Amazon! I'll review the 26" once it arrives.

Nice TV, beautiful picture, sound adequate for use in bedroom and remote worked fine. Unfortunately, the DVD player would not accept any DVD disc, but simply ejected them, one after another, within a few seconds of insertion, with absolutely no error message or other indication on the screen. Called Toshiba where a very personable tech rep told me that he had never heard of a unit with this problem and couldn't find it in his database; he suggested that I return it as defective. Packing it now for UPS pickup tomorrow courtesy of amazon.com. Sigh. My bright and beautiful and forebearing daughter warned me not to but a combo unit, but did I listen? Further deponent sayeth not.

Bought this TV for a child's bedroom for Christmas and it delivers as expected. This TV is perfect for bedroom, dormroom, office or kitchen. Obviously at 22" you shouldn't expect to make this the focal point of a home theater system. Picture is very good, some minor tweaking for my own personal preferrences, and I'm just using a standard def connection. DVD playback is sharp and clear.
As noted in other reviews the DVD does make some 'noise' when the TV first starts up - I'm guessing its just going thru its start up sequence and checking to see if a disc is loaded.
NOTE: This TV was bought as a Christmas gift - when first used, the DVD player would not work but thanks to Amazon's great replacement policy, a new TV was shipped and deliverd by the 29th (not bad considering there was a blizzard on the 27th).

First time I ever received a product that was easy to get out of the box. It took like one minute. I love the Toshiba TV. Great picture, quick and easy set up. Sharp picture, good sound.This is my second Toshiba TV and I am not disappointed with either of them. DVD player works good.

I looked for quite some time for a TV/DVD Combo and this one suits my needs very well. Just the right size for an average sized bedroom. Easy to adjust the visual screen size and color and the sound suits my husband who is hard of hearing. Nice unit!!!
