Terrific 32" TV at a bargain price.,

I'm a fanatic when it comes to the picture quality of TV sets and I've found that Sony and Toshiba TVs consistently rank at the top in picture quality, but Toshiba's are always more reasonably priced. This Toshiba is no exception. Its picture is very clean and sharp, better than some high definition TVs I've seen. Yes, its picture is "only" 32" in an era where picture sizes of 50" and more are available. But 32" is a very impressive picture size and allows for a reasonable price. Most TVs with super-size screens are significantly more expensive and do not have as good picture quality as this Toshiba. If you want a larger than 27" TV with great picture quality at a very reasonable price, you can't beat this Toshiba.

To elaborate on this set is not necessary. I briefly agonized between Toshiba 32" flat vs. curved. Both have beautiful pictures, a full compliment of inputs, and cost justifiably less than Sony.Three factors enabled me to save a couple hundred by choosing the curved over the flat. One, I can control reflective glare in the room it's housed within (opaque blinds) - note that flat reflects less. Two, I run sound through a box home theatre system-Onkyo HTS760-superb at $500) - note that TV sound wasn't a factor for me and that I haven't listened to the sound yet. Three, this replaces a 32" Toshiba that yet has a beautiful picture that has not given me a picture problem in ten+ years. The old set (which by the way cost over $900 ten years ago) goes to my young relative becuase I sought a slimer design with component input. I got it for $358 + tax at Best Buy and I feel great about the purchase.

I bought this tv after lamenting for several months over the different sets. I was going to buy a rear-projection HDTV but I'm going to wait until the HD programming is more than the 10 channels that I don't watch. So I bought this tv to do me 2-3 years and boy am I happy I did!!! This tv is sooooo crystal clear when I am watching my digital cable. I have the cable box hooked up using the svideo connection and I have never seen quite the picture I get on a normal CRT. Its so clear and it totally blows away my 6 year old 27 inch JVC. I hooked up my dvd player using the component connection and MAN! As if the picture could get any better! It does though.. mind blowing clarity when i was watching Finding Nemo with my daughter. Now I compared and compared and read review after review and am so happy with my purchase. The tv looked great in the store next to the sharp 32 inch, rca and jvc tvs and I knew it would be much better at home on my non-spliced-a-million-times connection. I am so happy and recommend this tv 100% to anyone looking to spend 400 and under. You can't go wrong!

Replacement is fine, Amazon customer service not so fine,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Toshiba 32A33 32" TV (Electronics)
I received my first Toshiba set about two weeks ago. After I had it set up and running I noticed large areas of extreme discoloration, green in the upper left corner, almost the entire right half was purplish, etc. I promptly contacted Amazon about this (via email of course) and their response was hesitant-they said they normally DO NOT DO EXCHANGES ON TV SETS OVER 27" BUT WOULD BE WILLING TO BREAK THE RULES ON A ONE TIME BASIS AND REPLACE MINE 10 DAYS LATER. I found that insulting AND ridiculous and told them so. It was as if they were doing me a favor by replacing the defective unit.
There should be no question that if a product they sell us is defective, it should be replaced with one that properly works, no questions asked. I did receive my replacement tv last week and it works just fine for a tube television, color is good, sound is fine, etc. I just doubt I'll be buying any higher-priced items from Amazon again. Plus having to correspond solely through email and waiting 24-48 hours for their response is mind-numbing.

32in.Toshiba round screen tv.,

When I first purchased my toshiba tv I kind of knew what to expect, But when I first turned it on I was blown away, The colors was excellent, The picture was bright and clear without being blinding as some tvs are,The black level balances very well with the rest of the picture without giving the picture a murky look. So with a few small adjustments for my living room it was great. The sound was pure and clean and projects across the room very well, Even at higher volume levels the sound remains crisp and clear. For someone on a small budget this tv is priced at a good price too.I compared many brands(rca.jvc.sony)and they are all good tvs, But the toshiba has that little something extra that makes it stand out above all the others. So for price and quality I would recommend this tv above all the others.
I'M SOLD.

Nice 32 inch TV for the price!,

I purchased a 20 inch Toshiba about eight years ago and it is just as picture perfect as the day I brought it home. I considered buying a flat screen TV because the set faces the sun. Decided to wait for better deals on HDTVs or flat screens, but I'm perfectly happy with this model. A temporary adjustment is required to the antenna since I don't have satellite connected yet; the picture is a little grainy if you don't adjust the dial on the antenna. Once it's tuned, the color is very bold and the sound has good quality. DVD movies are awesome! Toshiba is an excellent manufacturer. Found very good deal on this purchase.

good basic set,

picture quality thru S-video & component is very good; picture quality thru coax is good; tuner could be a little better - maybe an issue if you have cable without a converter box; sound is ok - recommend a separate system for audio or get the 32a43 model;cabinet looks nice and is narrow, but tall, so watch your height; features are pretty basic - volume leveling & channel banner/labeling would have been nice; composite video-out is nice, but don't expect to tape most DVDs

A Good TV, With A Good Price,
This review is from: Toshiba 32A33 32" TV (Electronics)
I just bought this model Toshiba Tv yesterday, it has a great price to it and it was easy to set up. After taking it out of it's huge box and hooking it up, I was impressed by it's picture clearity and sound, even though to me the sound seems a little muffled, but still satisfactory. This is my first television of this size but I have always looked at there picture quality instores and always found them to have a dull picture image. But this television seems to not fall into that catergory. I so far can highly recommend purchasing this tv.

This TV has HORRIBLE color,

I bought this TV due to the reviews it got off this site, boy was that a mistake. The browns look kind of dark greenish, the dark greens in Halo like almost p-green, the texture on the levels, the dirt and sand look tanish - pink. Also alot of the reds look pinkish. Do not buy this TV, I repeat, you will regret it, im taking mine back tomorrow, worst TV purchase I ever made.
