This TV has an amazing picture. Great deep blacks and vibrant colors. You must have a good clean HD signal to fully appreciate this TV. I have an RCA amplified HD antenna (rabbit ears) and the World Cup 2010 games are superb. I leave the settings on SPORTS mode and play with the brightness and color settings depending on the content. The NET TV feature is nice. It requires an internet connection through WIFI (wireless) or ethernet (wire). VUDU is great for instantly renting movies and the quality is excellent. The other content needs better programming in the future.

PROS: Great dynamic picture, Low power consumption (1.3 AMPS), Aesthetically pleasing beautiful design, only 2 inches thick, great menus, good remote control unit, low price.

CONS: NO ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT JACK.

I have had this Toshiba for a few weeks now. I must say the picture quality is good. I still haven't played with the plenty of adjustment you can do with this TV.

Pros:Great bang for the buck compared with the edge-lit Samsung's. Lots of adjustments and inputs even turning off the annoying Toshiba that lights up. Internet connected, Thin led back lit
Blu-ray movies and Hi def gaming looks great. The numerous widgets the TV offers and the included WiFi dongle

Cons:Messing with all the adjustments.
The WiFi dongle sticks out like a sore thumb on the side of the TV
No NETFLIX streaming hopefully it will be available in the future.
It would be great if internet connected TV's would use a QWERTY keyboard

As of this review, I have had this TV for 5 days. This is the third TV in a row that I have purchased from Toshiba. It replaces a Toshiba 40RF350U, which was great for about 3 years until it developed the same problem, vertical color lines on the left side of the screen, that numerous other purchasers have reported for that model. The 40UX600U has great specs and promises much. It may deliver for you, but it has not for me! I am very disappointed with the picture, especially comparing it to my previous one, which had fewer bells and whistles. Although the picture is fairly good, it does not have the fine, HD detail. (I have satellite HD programming.) The picture seems somewhat out of focus, which none of my adjustments have improved. Other concerns with this set is that the power went off by itself even though the Power Off setting is not activated; also, although I previously had only noticed motion blur on one occasion, today I began getting MAJOR motion blur even though the stabilization setting is On and the TV is set for 120Hz. It was so detracting that I finally changed channels. I have had additional incidents of the motion blur. Unfortunately, the dealer from whom I purchased this TV will not accept returns on TV's, so I'm in the position of having to deal with Toshiba directly. I might be stuck with what I consider a lemon. The bottom line is that you might purchase this TV and be quite satisfied with it, as I have with my previous Toshiba sets; but for your protection you should make sure that your dealer will accept the TV back in case you have problems with it.

This is our first LCD TV. I was not playing a lot with it, but after hooking it up to our MacBook Pro 17" (via mini-display to HDMI adapter and HMDI cable) I was blown away with the quality of picture. Then we've watched the movie played from MacBook to this TV and the picture was very good, sharp and clear and rich in colors. What I also found out is that the view angle is pretty good. While my family was sitting on the sofa in front of TV, I was watching from the side and didn't find any differences in color.
There are a lot of different picture settings, so you can adjust all of them to your personal preferences. If you make them wrong, you can easily reset them to manufacture settings.
Also, I've tried to play games from MacBook on this large screen and wasted in the game for about 5 hours, because the picture quality was very good and screen refresh rate is not visible at all.

With that said, I just want to conclude that I am satisfied with our new LCD LED TV.

I spent several days reviewing and comparing this unit with other brands. My parameters; price, screen size, weight, clarity of picture, available adjustments, available ports, NetTV content, durability, recent technology, firmware upgrades and compatibility with decor. The parameters are random and not in order of desirability.
Price: Definitely a consideration. This NetTV has dropped from $1399 to $849.
Screen Size: This size is perfect for my room.
Weight: It should not be too heavy.
Clarity of Picture: This brings us to adjustments of which there are enough to adjust any aspect of the picture.
Available Ports: Perfect for my needs.
NetTV: Content is more than enough for me.
Durability: I have noticed the Toshiba brand in many Bars and Restaurants. Which indicates this is a rugged TV.
Recent Technology: This size was manufactured starting in July of 2010.
Firmware Upgrades: When I started this TV there was an update available.
Compatibility With Decor: Complements the black gloss table below the TV.
I am very satisfied with Toshiba TVs.

The Toshiba 40UX600U was delivered via UPS and arrived perfectly. Un-boxing the unit was a snap and all the accessories were included as promise. Setting up the unit was also simple including the Wi-Fi feature. I am very happy with the high quality picture that the TV puts out. Colors are vibrant and intense especially on sporting events (football & basketball) games. I highly recommend the Toshiba 40UX600U for your next TV purchase.

Also Amazon customer service was absolutely great. I found the Toshiba 40UX600U on another WEB site for $30 dollars cheaper and Amazon refunded the difference back to me to price match the other competitor as promised in their TV price guarantee.

Bought this TV last week. Great picture,
Also bought a Toshiba Bluray player, but could not get the remote set up properly.
Called their hepdesk and got an excellent service!!

Only thing I could not get working was Youtube and Vudu.
But I think I need to spend a little more time to get that working.

Overall: excellent product.

I bought this TV to finally enter the HD world. I was not picky and bought this on deal for <$600. It is meeting my need but not close to perfect.

I don't know if I have a received a bad TV but I had to lower the brightness level to "movie" (the darkest preset picture configuration) to minimize the "flashlighting" in the corners. It is only noticeable in dark scenes or when the TV signal is at 4:3 ratio and the edges are black except for the corners.

The speakers are just ok. I adjusted the bass up and it still sounds a little twangy and cheap, but it gets the job done.


Update: I sent pictures of my screen to Toshiba and they did say my unit is defective and needs to be replaced, I will update when the replacement arrives.

I bought this tv October 7, 2010 and I received it in 3 days with free shipping!. When I first saw these LED TVs, the first thing I looked at was the price. The prices were outrages and I was not about to spend that much money for one TV. I decided to look around on Amazon and I found this Toshiba 40 inch LED TV on sale. There was a major price difference from what I saw at other stores! Without hesitation I bought the TV and the VideoSecu TV Wall Mount . I have my TV mounted on the wall so I can play Call of Duty: Black Ops everyday! I recommend this TV to anyone who wants a LED TV with no flaws and perfect price.

Very happy with the transaction dealing with Amazon as I lost my purchase before completing with the order with my credit card and a representative with Amazon helped me retreave my order I was in process of completing. I found this very helpful as I otherwise would not have been able to complete purchase. The company that my item came from in Arizona, completed transaction as stated and handling with UPS was timely. I was very disappointed in watched the UPS driver pulling my package out of the truck and dropping it on the ground. Evidently no damage was done as the TV works great and the packaging with the factory was an extra heavy carton and stood the drop very well. I have purchased from Amazon before and again the transaction was very smooth.
