Lots of money for questionable product,

This review is from: Toshiba 43H72 43-Inch 4:3 HDTV-Ready Projection TV (Electronics)
This TV is overpriced in today's market. Beware of this TV and Toshiba. We have an earlier version of this TV, the 43H71. At first we loved it. However, 2 months after the warranty expired it started having convergence problems. Toshiba refused to help at all because the warranty had just expired. It is now worse, and we've found out that it will cost a minimum of $500 to fix because a technician has to come out and put in a new convergence card. It also came with picture side by side, rather than picture in picture. However, the local cable company, Cox, doesn't let you use this feature if you use their cable, but it does come with their Video Recorder service, which, of course is more money. For this price, I would have expected better from Toshiba. Our picture is now wavy and you can't make out features. There are 2 horizontal lines going through it and it bows. Toshiba should have helped us, considering how close to the warranty deadline it was, either by covering the repair or helping to cover it. They will definitely not be my first choice.

Purchased our Toshiba projection television in 2002. Great picture - even in brightly lit room. Excellent, flawless performance for the first three years, then also lost convergence as noted in other reviews. Fortunately, had heard of this being an issue with all projection tvs and had purchased an extended warranty, which covered the repair.
