• Improved VidePowerFocus HD CRT's: These high quality CRT's, originally used only in HD projections TV's, are now being incorporated into Toshiba's Analog projection TV's. They utilize fine phosphor, high beam current, a large electrostatic lens area, and dynamic quadruple focus to achieve 10% more brightness and 25% better sharpness than standard CRT's for clear HD images. They also add DFine Hi-Speed VSM for further improved sharpness and contrast.
• TruView
• The Sub Bass System (SBS) creates a bass boost at and around the 100-cycle audio-frequency area. This creates a noticeable increase in bottom end and overall fullness, for an improved home theater sound. Richer, deeper home theater sound.
• Surround Sound: Allows the userto enjoy an enhanced home theater experience without connection of external speakers. Most Toshiba televisions incorporate some type of surround processing. Makes the viewer feel more like they are part of the on-screen action.
• Sleep Timer, One Button: The sleep timer function has been moved out of the on-screen menu system and can now be accessed by a single button on the remote control. Operation of the sleep timer is now quicker and easier.
• Direct Video Input Selection: Direct Video Input Selection lets you go straight to the video input of your choice by pressing the input number on your remote control--so you don’t have to scroll through all of them. Inputs can now be directly selected from the remote's numbered keypad without scrolling through all the inputs.
• Individual A/ V Settings for Inputs: All input signals are not created equally. This feature allows the viewer to make video adjustments for each type of input, such as RF, Composite, and Component. Benefit: Ensures optimum display of each type of source.

We have been using this for 2 weeks. It has a very good picture. I setup a custom preference, which I saved in the setup menu. I tweaked the color, contrast,brightness, ....). The TV comes with predefined schemes, but my custom setup looks quite a bit better. As far as progressive scan goes, I am not even sure what it is (see previous review). The Image with DVDs is excellent and very good with cable. I looked at a local chanin store and the images were horrible looking, I almost deceided to wait a couple years to buy a large screen, but I am glad that I didn't. The sound system in the television is pretty decent as well. I am still mulling the extended warranty about $400 for 4 additional years. The paper work is included with the television.

In summary, if you are looking for a fairly inexpensive, but nice projection television. This is a good one.

Fantastic quality, the screen is very sharp, clear, and crisp! While this is sold as an analog tv, it uses High Definition components. Some of the reviews actually indicate it is HDTV ready. I saw it first at Best Buy, and bought it here. Delivery was prompt and the setup and trash removal (carton) feature of the delivery was very nice.

I'd recommend it highly!

It's a good TV with very bright and clear picture but unfortunately it does work with my Pioneer DV-434 Progressive Scan DVD Player when I turn on Progressive Scan.
