5.0 out of 5 stars Mine Works Great!!
I have had this TV since December 2006. I have watched a lot of TV and played a lot of 360 on this TV and I have never had an issue. I have never burnt out a bulb or experienced any issues that the occasional reset can't fix. I have moved twice since owning this TV (once over 6 hours away) and everytime I moved into my new place and plugged in this TV, it worked liked it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Lamp problems
Just brought this tv and only had it for a month and the lamp blew out! Called Toshiba customer service and ask them if this happens alot with this tv. Customer Service stated that it may have been a bad batch. Just be warned, you may want to get the warranty. Also, they stated it would take 3 to 10 days to get the lamp. Expensive lesson!

1.0 out of 5 stars Same Problem, Here is the Solution... MUST READ, July 23, 2006
By
HD Master (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
First, DO NOT buy this TV. 62HM95 or any other Toshiba HD DLP models manufactured in 2005.(that includes models still in stores through mid to late 2006) These models have a defect that results in the projection bulb going bad at any time. Bulb life of 100-800 HOURS(2-5 months) is expected, even the replacements from Toshiba. Mine lasted 53 days! Replacement parts are NOT currently available and even if they were you would need another one very soon. I wouldn't buy a Toshiba Rear projection until 2007.

If you have one now you WILL have this problem. Do what I did. Return you TV and exchange for another brand. Even if you are outside your stores return policy, Toshiba has return contracts with all the major retailers, get an R/A number form Toshiba (1-800-631-3811) they can authorize a return to the retail store and get you watching a new HDTV before Football season begins. Be nice, courteous and firm with these customer service people and you will get what ever you deserve. Toshiba is flexible in these situations. Don't accept anything other than a new TV.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inspect screen carefully before accepting delivery., October 3, 2005
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
Before signing and accepting delivery of any Toshiba DLP, be sure to check the screen to make sure that the coating on the inside of the screen is uniform. On mine, there was a circle about 10" in diameter that you can see in certain lighting and even when the TV is off! It will appear lighter than the surrounding areas at times and can be annoying. I called Toshiba and had a service man come out and even though he acknowledged that this is common, Toshiba will not replace the screen. I would have given them a negative 10 if it were possible just because of their attitude. So, look at the screen VERY carefully before accepting or purchasing. If you see this problem, refuse to accept it. Or else just buy a Samsung or Mitsubishi DLP to avoid the problem I have.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lamp Blew Out at 5 months, March 26, 2006
By
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
TV picture and features are very good for the price, but the lamp blew at 5 months! Since we only use this set about 25 hours a week its only at about 500 hours or so and the lamp is rated by Toshiba for 6000-8000 hours. Customer service was typical for a large electronics company... CRAPPY & UNCARING! Laying out $250 is enough for me to say no more Toshiba... EVER!

2.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful picture - Lousy bulbs, July 10, 2006

Riverbrat (Antelope Valley, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
I purchased my 62HM95 (62" DLP) set September 2005. The original bulb burned out in late January just under 5 months after purchase of the TV I guess that's actually pretty good - I'm reading from others bulbs only lasting 2 months on light use! I love the quality of the picture when the bulb is working. It's very sharp and clear. But starting a few weeks before the bulb burns out, the picture dims considerably then eventually just gives up the ghost! The replacement bulb lasted almost exactly 5 months and burned out last Friday night. Same process - several weeks of dim picture the poof! Gone. I've put in a call to the authorized service center and am awaiting a call back. I am single and don't have the TV on all that much - a couple of hours in the evening and a few more on weekends - and I always use it in the low setting (this TV has a low for normal night viewing and high for daytime when ambient light may cause difficulty in viewing - a problem I've never had.) I'm wondering if there is a fan to cool off the lamp. If not, it probably needs one!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Design, April 10, 2006
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
In my opinion the design is poor for the 52HM95 I have. The $200-300 light bulb blew after only 100-200 hours of use. The warranty replacement blew after only 50-100 hours of use. Other than the potential cost of ownership being several thousands of dollars per yer in bulbs it seems good.

1.0 out of 5 stars LEMON?, March 31, 2006
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
I loved the TV for the 2 months it worked. I purchased my 62HM95 on 1-27-06. Exactly 2 months to the day the lamp blew out. Approx: 200 hours on the bulb. Called Toshiba for a replacement bulb. They said I would receive by Friday. Called on Friday had not even been shipped. Still waiting on my replacement. Very disappointed with Toshiba customer service. BUYER BEWARE! Have read lots of reviews since purchasing the TV of people complaining of bulb going out within 2 - 3 months.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bulb Problems, March 23, 2007
By
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
Purchased a 62HM95 in 04/2006. Bulb blew in November. Second bulb just blew (waiting for replacement now). Toshiba rep says we're getting an "improved lamp" rated for 4000-6000 hours, which is what they said last time - Apparently the bulb that just blew was also one of the "improved" lamps. I told them to mark my file as I'd likely be calling again in 4-6 months. Toshiba rep said if it blew a 3rd time, we could discuss "other options". The TV is on about 4-6 hours a day (little ones love their cartoons) on average over the "life" of the TV. We have an XBOX, a PS2 and a HDMI DVD player connected to the TV inputs. Cable box also connected through HDMI cable. (Tried a cable card from Comcast, but the channels were delayed - 5 secs - in changing.) Fiber optic running over to a receiver as well. We also have a second antenna connected. The picture is good when it's on and the sound is really good, but aside from the bulb issues, we've also experienced problems with the card reader not operating (tech had to be called to service the unit) and off and on green and black squares bouncing in place of the picture at times (not the digital signal blocks). All were reported to Toshiba. Toshiba cust service has been responsive and worked with us on the phone, but $2500 (what I paid last year) is a lot for an off and on again TV. I just want a TV that works.

1.0 out of 5 stars Toshiba 46HM95 DLP Television - BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
I purchased this TV in October of 2005. The first week it had to be replaced because part of the screen went out. I received the replacemnt and bought the extended warranty. After 4 months of use the lamp blew out. After speaking with Toshiba Customer service, the part is back ordered. The best they could give me was an estimate of 2 - 3 weeks for the part to come in... then they would ship it out 2nd day shipping.

After reading the other reviews, this back order problem has been an issue since atleast October of 2005 and is still not rectified. I expected alittle more out of a $2000 plus TV. My next purchase will not be a Toshiba, and if I can still return the set to the retail store I bought it, it will go back.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lamp (bulb) failure, February 9, 2006
This review is from: Toshiba 62HM95 62-Inch Projection DLP HD-Ready TV (Electronics)
I have the 46HM95 which is virtally the same set as the 62 just a smaller screen. Both models use the same projector bulb, D95-lmp. My lamp failed after just three months of gentle use. We only watch about 20 hours per week. Toshiba say they are out of stock of this lamp. I winder why? They say it will be 10 to 15 BUSINESS days before they send a replacement. Not good enough.

While the set worked properly, the picture was superb. The best I have ever seen but I thought I would get years not month out of a lamp.
