Hard drive failed within 3 months. Servicing took nearly 2 months. When I finally got the computer back the bezel/case around the screen was scratched really badly (looks like someone in the Toshiba service department slid the face of the computer around on a hard surface, embedding several permanent scratches all over it.) And, of course, one of the USB ports on the side is now bent (inside) so that the USB port can't even be used. Looks like the USB port was used as a pry point during repairs.

Also, when I got it back from Toshiba servicing, I noticed the machine now makes odd sounds at startup similar to a cappuccino machine. Don't know what that means, but it probably means there are more problems.

All in all- WORST electronic purchase I've ever made in my life. Defective new product, Horrible customer service.

1) CPU - Crunches and is noisy
2) CD Drive is extremely loud - sounds like an airplane revving up and taking flight from my office
3) USB dongle is very awkwardly located on the back of the Toshiba in a compartment, so you have to first place that into the compartment to even get the mouse / keyboard to work. For a wireless set up, they should have just provided a true wirelss option without adapter.

I can't believe how noisy this Toshiba All-In-One Desktop Computer DX735 is. We recorded the actual noise with my cell phone. When we played the video back on my cell phone you could clearly hear how loud the CPU was; especially noticeable was the racket it made processing a CD in the CD drive. I transferred the video to my desktop and before uploading on to Amazon for this review we played the video. I can say for certain that the noise is horrific and completely unacceptable. We have purchased 2 Toshiba laptops in the past and are so disappointed in the cheap quality of this Toshiba All-In-One Computer that we will probably never purchase another Toshiba product again. I'm a Small Busines Owner / Professional Writer and it is very frustrating to have to send this computer back and start the research progress again to find another conputer. I mention 'start the research process again', because now that I know this computer was noisy, I will need to research that specific component on other computers to also make sure they don't have the same drawback. Whatever product I ultimately purchase, it will not be a Toshiba.

**UPDATE 5/24**

I can't believe what I chose, because it is so new to me, but I went with the iMac. We are not Mac users, I don't know a thing about Mac comoputers, but it was lightening fast at the store.

Very noisy hard drive. I wanted to change to a SSD but there is no documentation anywhere on how to assess the hard drive. I have been building computers for >10 years and we have a full time IT tech in the company (have 100+ computers), but there is no way either of us could find how to access the hard drive on our own. I called Toshiba and they want me take the comupter to a repair shop to change the hard drive! Unwilling to provide any diagram or manual on how to access the hard drive. In all these years I have never even seen a laptop where you cannot access a hard drive, let alone a computer. Very frustrating. This will be my last toshiba purchase.

This unit is an all-in-one, which is to say, a laptop with a bigger screen and slightly different packaging. Understood that way, it's a great gadget, well deserving five stars.

People who need high-end graphics processing or like to play games will be better served by a system unit and screen, where they can get higher-end main and graphics processors and mix and match for the monitor that will best serve their needs. But if what you want is a medium-powered unit that will serve perfectly well for InDesign or occasional PhotoShop jobs (the GIMP, etc., same same) and don't want something that takes up your whole desk would be well advised to look at this one. The screen is bright, clear, and as alias-free as any of the best LCDs, the processing is nice and quick even if not at cutting edge levels, and the repackaged laptop keyboard (wireless) is plenty good enough for light keyboarding. All in all, for somebody below the "gamer" or "power user" level it's a great machine.

I didn't think I'd like the touchscreen feature, but it turns out that it's handy if you turn the keyboard and mouse off (to save batteries) and just need to do occasional minor stuff like approving (or not) software upgrades. It's also extremely entertaining if a fly gets in the room, but you're well advised to close your software 'til you get rid of the insect. Cats on keyboards have nothing on bugs on touchscreens!

I had been saving up for my first All-In-One since November of 2011. Finally after saving up enough, I went to my local Best Buy and bought this (DX735-D3201) one. I've been a loyal Toshiba consumer for years, with laptops that have lasted like 6 years, so I naturally wanted to go with Toshiba for a desktop. BIG MISTAKE! They didn't have any in store (of course, they never have what you want in the actual store) so they shipped one to my home for free. Got it and five days later had to take it back. Followed all the directions for startup, making recovery discs, updates, etc. Then within two days, I was getting the "blue screen of death" and it would restart on a near constant basis, even when it was supposed to be "hibernating." Took it back, and of course they still didn't have any in stock, so they had another one ordered. Got it a few days later. Around 5pm I started it up, it ran a few Windows updates, and when I attempted to make my recovery discs, I found out (after calling Toshiba Customer Service and Best Buy) that I did not have the needed program to make recovery discs installed on my hard drive...which should have been in there. So I had to take the SECOND computer back. Well that was the end of that. I sent an email expressing my concern and irritation with the situation to Best Buy and replied with an email with little to no sympathy. I attempted to contact a Customer Relations representative from Toshiba but was given the "call back during normal business hours" b.s., like people don't have issues on the weekend. So I took my computer back to Best Buy and did NOT get another Toshiba. I ordered an HP (because of course they didn't have any of the model I wanted in store!). Hopefully this one will work....BEWARE TOSHIBA ALL-IN-ONES!!!!
