Beautiful Product,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Toshiba Qosmio G35-AV600 17-inch Laptop (Intel Core Duo Processor T2400, 1024 MB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, DVD SuperMulti Dbl Layer Drive) (Personal Computers)
I love this computer - the screen is amazing (perfect for watching and editing movies or working with photos), the keyboard is comfortable (the keys make a little clicking noise that is quite pleasant), and the speakers are outstanding. The speed is great and the software package is decent (it wasn't terribly difficult to get rid of all that junk that comes bundled with it) but seems a bit stingy for the price of the machine. Be warned: this is certainly not a "laptop" - this thing is HUGE and quite heavy (but not that hot).

Great computer for entertainment and work purposes. I'm not a computer geek and may lack the technical language to explain the following but I found it easy to operator. The keyboard has short cut buttons for tv,dvd,cd etc.. The built in speakers are loud and clear, the screen is vivid and the colors pop! The minus 1 star comes from the dual mouse pad is a little too sensitive and would freeze if your finger touched more than one command. (only for a moment),the volume control dial response is a little slow and the obvious..it's a little HEAVY!(10 lbs)and awkward to balance on your lap.

A Nice Notebook/Desktop Replacement That Has A Few Problems,

There are times the Internet wireless connection is lost and must be reconnected. There are also times when web-pages freeze up. Once I minimize the page, then pull it back up it usually unfreezes. I don't know why this occurs. The price is dropping so keep an eye on this one. I paid $1699 but have seen it offered for as low as $1499 at Circuit City. I know everyone claims the duo-processor is 40% faster but I can't see a difference between my old P-4 2.4 and this new duo core. The picture is nice and the sound is surprisingly of good quality for a notebook. The other reviewer was accurate regarding getting rid of the free programs that only work for 3 months. McAfee imperticular badgered the heck out of me regarding their soon to expire anti-virus program. I [...]

I have this laptop and I am not happy...it cant run internet or even itunes for that matter. It keeps freezing up and I have to keep hitting refresh then that freezes it up.So I try hitting back and that just makes everything go white. It lags at everything...I tried typing this twice before and it couldnt keep up with my typing. I also have to beat the keyboard to get the letters to pick up. This is my second Qosmio. The first one I go I returned within 3 days cause it kept crashing. This one hasnt crashed but has froze a billion times, lags, is VERY heavy, and takes forever to do anything(like start up!!). It cant multi-task thats for sure.
The screen is very bright though..thats nice I guess. The sound system is amazing on it....other than that...I hate this thing. Its only 3 years old and I cant stand it. I even got the RAM updated to 4 GB....guess what...still lags and sucks!!! And its only registering that I have 3.25?!! Get an HP. Or a Dell. My 10 year old Dell that has 14 GB of memory left doesnt crap up as much as my Toshiba. I am sorry I paid $2200 for this thing...it was supposed to be good to animate with...HAHA BULL! If you have iTunes and messenger running at the same time be prepared to sit and wait for it to catch up on everything. It also doesnt install programs properly..I usually hve to do it twice cause the first time...guess what..it freezes! And Toshiba just writes down my complaint...they dont care to help. It also comes with Windows 2002...not 2005 as stated!! HATE HATE HATE IT. Never will I buy a Toshiba...ANYTHING!

This product delivers on pretty much all that it promises. Only thing is that the weight means it is not a comfortable piece of equipment to have on your laps.

Had to have the screen replace for minor flaws. Got good and quick service with no hastles. Besides that I love the features and performance.

It's supposed to come with Media Center 2005, but actually comes with Media Center 2002! I know of 2 such cases: there is a sticker on the laptop that says Media Center 2005, but if you look at the system properties, it's Media Center 2002! What a scam, Toshiba! And very disappointing. :(

The picture is bright and sharp you can download HD movies and it looks great.I recommend upgrading the memory to a 4gb ram so you'll be set for years to come.the wireless-g-/bluetooth works fine it pick up my router in no time, but I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to hook up the live TV from media center using my satellite HD DVR from dish network other then the notebook works great and the remote control is awsome:)
