Great for the bedroom, dorm, kitchen, or office, the MD20FM1 delivers the quality of DVD and the convenience of a combo unit, all with Toshiba's classy silver exterior and well-designed core. Besides looking great, the set's pure-flat tube eliminates unwanted reflections from room light and affords a broader viewing angle than conventional tubes.
Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to an audio-video receiver. Front-panel audio-video inputs accommodate hookups of a camcorder or gaming console, while a front-panel headphone jack grants listening privacy.
Use the "on" timer as an alarm clock to wake up to your favorite movie, or have the set turn off automatically when viewing in the evening (up to 360 minutes in either case). Violent or sexually explicit programming can be identified and blocked using a V-chip, prohibiting viewing by young children.

Worst product ever! ---- Don't buy it!,

Don't buy it! After setting up this gem of a TV/DVD Combo, everything worked fine. However after less than 3 hours of use, the dvd player stopped working! Toshiba was NO HELP! NO TECH SUPPORT ON OR OFF LINE. They want me to bring it to one of their very few service centers. This place is over 50miles from my home. "I Don't think so"! When the dvd player starts, I get a error message (incorrect Disk) with a disk that allready played ONCE! I have tried several other disks, with the same results! So now I just have a very expensive plain TV!... Frist and last Toshiba product for me!!!

It's a TV with a sharp image and a good dvd player. I would have liked the dvd player to be able to play vcd's but you can't expect a range of features out of a basic built in model. I recommend this tv for anyone who is looking for a mid to high end model.

When the TV/VCR combos first came out 10 years ago, I was skeptical. It seemed like more could go wrong. But the higher end manufacturers have maintained high quality in the combo products. Toshiba produces great televisions, and this TV/DVD/VCR combo carries on the tradition.The flat screen is a great picture. I'd say it's close to Sony Trinitron quality, though Sony WEGA still beats it. The DVD player works great. The unit has front A/V jacks, supports games and multiple video input devices (digital and/or video cameras, another VCR, etc.). Sound quality is surprisingly good, though I still run it through my stereo system when we're watching movies. This is the best combo system I've seen from the major manufacturers. The picture is better, it looks better, and it weighs less.
