If you plan on buying a TV to take up space and look attractive, this is the one for you. If you actually want to turn the set on and watch it, look somewhere else. After 3 months my TV decided that it was no longer interested in working properly and will not stay on for longer than 3 seconds before it shuts itself off. Contacting Toshiba about the problem gave me the opportunity to listen to muzak for 30 minutes. After enjoy the sweet sounds of Hall and Oates and Sade I was told that I could take my broken TV to the closest Toshiba Service Station, located approximately 40 miles away. The parts I was told were covered by warranty, but labor was not. Now I am lucky enough to give Toshiba even more of my money, which I am thrilled to do! I realize we live in a disposable world nowadays, but three months is a bit premature. Save your time, your money, and your sanity and buy a Sony, or an RCA, or a Mitsubishi, or a Magnavox, or anything other than a Toshiba.Toshiba, Japanese for "Thanks for the money, stupid American".

I just bought this tv and seems ok, the closed captioning does not work on the dvd. Compared to all the research I made on having a good, cheap TV and a dvd, this one seems to be the best one, let's see what time says on its usage.
