This isn't a review of the Toshiba drive itself, but of the seller: CrazyDavesToolShed. I placed an order for this drive on 8/8/08. Almost two weeks later I got an email from Amazon that they had not received confirmation from the seller that the item had shipped. After contacting the seller I got a reply that they canceled my order because the last drive they had in stock was "defective". The drive on Amazon was labeled as NEW so, unless the drive had physical damage I don't know how they would have determined that it was defective. So I wasted two weeks waiting for an item that I will now have to reorder from someone else. Since the order was canceled, Amazon removed all record of the transaction from my order history and I was not able to leave seller feedback which is why I wrote this review here.

THIS IS A TOSHIBA MK3008GAL 30GB IT CAN BE USED FOR IPOD 5TH GEN AND ZUNE 30GB.I PULLED IT OUT OF MY IPOD 5TH GEN BECAUSE I PLACED IN A 80GB.SO THAT IS WAY I AM SELLING THIS IPOD 30GB..ITS IN 100% IN GREAT CONDATION

Perfect fix if you're Ipod has the sad face. It's not an easy fix for the average person but videos of how to replace the hard drive are easy to find.
