5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning quality for the price
I got this TV/VCR for the Master Bedroom and was amazed at the quality of the picture. It's not a flat tube, but the TV tuner and the VCR playback produce an absolutely amazing picture compared to a 13" Sanyo model my daughter has.

2.0 out of 5 stars works temporarily
This TV was only OK brand new. One year later we're looking to replace it as it is worn out after only average use. After about three months of use it started to falter here and there. Now the picture sometimes turns to a black square that covers about 90% of the screen which you can easily fix by hitting any button but still should not be after only one years use. The...

I got this TV/VCR for the Master Bedroom and was amazed at the quality of the picture. It's not a flat tube, but the TV tuner and the VCR playback produce an absolutely amazing picture compared to a 13" Sanyo model my daughter has.

Also, if you unplug to move it - which we do frequently - it doesn't automatically force you into the channel scan setup like the Sylvania does.

Everything seems solid - nothing loose or flimsy about it, from the buttons to the VCR mechanism to the entire case.

The only negative is that it did NOT come with an antenna, although there is a placeholder for one on the back/top of the unit. Apparently most of the manufacturers have quit supplying an antenna. A shame, since we don't have cable hookups everywhere we need a TV. Plain VHF antennas are getting hard to find but you can still get one for about $10.00

We looked at Emmerson, Apex, and Sanyo (most of the brands that make these smaller units are cheap). No comparison - get the Toshiba.

I'd say 2 thumbs up...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little TV!, November 4, 2004
This review is from: Toshiba MV13P2 13-Inch TV/VCR Combo (Electronics)
Just bought it! Works great for a bedroom! Good quality. The only problem I have is that the remote is HUGE. It is almost as big as the tv itself. Other than that, it is a great little tv vcr!

4.0 out of 5 stars terrific television, November 1, 2004

Very nice picture for a non-flat screen. Settup a breeze. Easy full function remote. TV is in our kitchen/dinette area and is perfect to throw a tape in for the kiddies. Value for the dollar here is unbeatable.

I purchased this Toshiba VCR combo for the kitchen; replacing a GE that was passed along to a relative. Setup was easy with clear and easy to follow directions. The picture is clear and very sharp, as is the VCR playback. Toshiba could substantially improve the sound. The tone is very "tinny". The GE I had prior to this Toshiba had significantly better sound. That is the only reason I give four stars and not five. Overall, I am very pleased with my first Toshiba product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great for a Spare TV, September 20, 2006
This review is from: Toshiba MV13P2 13-Inch TV/VCR Combo (Electronics)
I've had this for a year and a half. It is not my main tv, but it's in my bedroom and I have it on every single night to fall asleep to, which means it runs for at least one to two hours a night (it has a sleep timer which is awesome, so I just set that when I get in bed). So I would say it gets regular use. The picture is very clear. I don't use the VCR regularly, but it's worked perfectly when I have used it.

I don't know if the people who gave it low reviews use this as their main tv and therefore have it on 4-6 hours a day. But as a spare tv with daily use, it's worked very well, just like my other full-sized Toshiba. Did I mention yet hat I love the sleep timer? =) The only thing I haven't figured out is if I can also connect a DVD player to it. I think the answer is no. There are no input/output jacks in the back and of the two on the front, one was for headphones and the other didn't fit so I think it was for speakers or a gaming device.

I loved this tv/vcr and generally love Toshiba products- however- in 9 mos the VCR started not accepting the tape, then chewing up the tapes and of course the warranty from Amazon was out- I was ill and couldn't get it to the Toshiba repair which is 4 towns away from me- i know Toshiba will charge for it. I gues i got 1/2 my money's worth- TV is fine. If you buy it, i suggest taking a service plan.

This TV was only OK brand new. One year later we're looking to replace it as it is worn out after only average use. After about three months of use it started to falter here and there. Now the picture sometimes turns to a black square that covers about 90% of the screen which you can easily fix by hitting any button but still should not be after only one years use. The sound was hardly decent quality to begin with and has only gotten worse. I cannot reccomend this item.
