We've had this model for quite awhile and never had any problems. It is a tablet with a keyboard, meaning it can be used as a standard laptop or a tablet device. It works well as a tablet and the writing recognition is pretty good. My son takes this device to school to use, so it has had its share of rough use! I heartily recommend Toshiba tablets as I had another one as a work device.

I have one of these and it works very well for me. I use the tablet function in school constantly. The battery life usually carries me through two classes (2-3 Hrs). I really can't think of any negative things about it. It's durable and I have mine in a leather portfolio that toshiba makes for it, so it looks good.

When I bought my Toshiba tablet 5 years ago I did a lot of research on all the tablets on the market. This one was by far the best. Five years later I'm still using it and everything works great.

I like almost everything about my Portege, but like one of the other reviewers mine freezes constantly when using IE. You hae to cltr alt delete then mess with it and usually it unfreezes but sometimes I have to hard schut down and restart. A real bummer, since I like and all the other features unique to the convertible alot.

This computer has been nothing but problems from day 1. This is the second Toshiba tablet pc I have owned. I should have kept my first one. When using IE it froze up. I went online and got a "fix" for that but it still happens at least once every time I use it. Programs also freeze up constantly. If I put into hibernate every program that was running freezes and I have to reboot. I think this computer is ready for the junk heap.

THIS VENDOR IS TOTALLY BOGUS. THE COMPUTER ADVERTISED AND ORDERED WAS NOT THE ONE RECEIVED. I SENT SEVERAL EMAILS TO ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION AND WAS IGNORED ON THE KEY ITEM:

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW AMAZON IS SUPPORTING SUCH CROOKED VENDORS. PLUS, AMAZON DELETED ALL MY DOCUMENTING EMAILS FROM THE AMAZON SITE! YOU CAN BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR THAT I WILL NEVER BE ORDERING ANYTHING FROM AMAZON AGAIN!
