After reviewing more than 25 different Portable DVD players, I found that this was the one. It has excellent sound with or without a headset and an excellent picture quality. I bought this as I was traveling to Hawaii and thought that my 4yr old would be kept busy throughout the 5hr flight. I was so right, not only did the DVD keep him busy, but also the battery lasted the whole trip from the beginning of the flight to the end. My husband and I are very happy and satisfied with this product. One last thing that sold me on this product is that you have the option of using the remote control that it comes with or you can manually operate it with the self-control buttons. I bought this DVD at Costco..... And it was worth it.

I have been using this unit extensively for 6 months. I travel about 150k miles a year and used to watch TV and movie DVDs on my laptop but needed external seat power to be able to do this. Also, I found it impossible to use the laptop in coach due to the tight space so had to resign myself to what was being shown. A portable player gives you choices. Laptops are not designed for long play of DVDs which consume a lot of laptop resources. I bought this unit for my wife originally, but it now never leaves my laptop bag! I take it on every business trip and also carry a fresh collection of DVDs in a small case.

I tried out the xD slot on the front of the unit to look at some photos I took on a Fuji digital camera but the resolution is too poor to make this an enoyable experience. I think, only people without a computer of any description would use this feature.

I love this unit - it is compact, durable and the sound is clear and dynamic. My minor complaints are that the screen display is somewhat small, a little dark and resolution not terribly crisp and there is no indication of battery power. The unit flashes a battery warning and then dies very quickly. On my last business trip, it accidently fell off my seat table, DVD tray lid opened and my DVD went flying through the air. The unit was absolutely fine much to my amazement! I carried on watching the DVD in a few moments after a fellow passenger helped me to retrieve it. In terms of battery life, I can watch around 4-5 hours straight on a full-charge. Easily 8 episodes of a show like 24 which is plenty for any 6-7 hour flight. Recently on a 10 hour flight to San Francisco, I was wanting for more battery power but for most of my trips, this unit is great.

This is great for taking on trips or camping when it rains. I haven't had a hard time charging the battery as some reviewers have said. It does take a very long time for it to charge though, but it says so in the owner's manual. You have to make sure the unit is turned off to charge it. It lasts about 6 hours. You can find a PDF of the owner's manual online.

It will not read new disks out of the package, old disks, it will not read any disk for that matter, and it had barely been used! we bought it to use in our smaller car, it does not have a DVD unit in it like our SUV. We have NEVER used it in the car. I used it on my kitchen table the day i bought it, to test it, watched an entire movie on it while fixing dinner.

I have hooked it up to a TV in the guest bedroom to watch a movie when my children have friends over and i want to watch a movie in quiet. After owning it less than a year, watching LESS than 10 movies, it will not read disks anymore.

I have cleaned it with a cleaner, to no avail. I believe from watching the unit that the eye has stopped moving along the disk to read as it should.

So this was a complete waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE, spend a little more and get a Sony! in all the years i have been buying electronics i have never had issue with theirs!

I bought this player back in 2006 and take it with me whenever traveling. I also use it on a daily basis watching movies and listening to CD's in my room. The size is perfect travel size and the screen is easily seen and audio is great with/without headphones. I think I usually get about 4 hours on battery. After 9 years of avid use, this tough little player is still great! I'm glad to find it's still available to buy as I had an unfortunate accident the other day and dropped it while it was open.. :( Even after dropping it, it still plays well, but the screen cracked and now there's a big blotch on the screen.. :( Time for a new one, I guess.
