Great Value, Awesome Laptop,
By D. Anders "Writer and Movie Maven" (Boyds, MD USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q705 17-Inch Widescreen Laptop (Electronics)
This is a big laptop and like the other reviewer, it said it is strange looking. However, if you are not so intimidated by its looks its performance and accoutrements will impress you. I use it for Work (Web Development) and Home (Playing CSS and other Steam Apps). This laptop is more than enough for all the games and applications you can throw at it. The only downside is it is 64 bit and some older applications will not install. Its not that they done run, Vista will not even install them. No biggy, most larger applications are available in 64-bit if you just check the manufacturers website for updates. Usually you can load the 64-bit version online and use your 32-bit license. Of course, it varies a lot.
The screen is amazing and works well with my 32" ViewSonic HDTV and my Sony 1080i LCD Projector. This is a gaming laptop all the way, more power than needed for running office automation software. I suggest shopping around; I got mine for $1249 a few weeks ago. In addition, note there are no restore discs, it is all on the laptop so back it up when you first get it.

Impressed Mother,

Just sent a Sager back. The sound was horrid, and its 1080 matt screen made colors so dull and text much too small to easily read. The Qosmio's 4-5 speaker sound Hardmon (sp?) makes my heart sing. Mouth dropping quality, truly. And the 17 inch bright screen is a joy to watch for hours on end. The computer is cool enough and light enough to sit in your lap. Can also be found for terrific prices at your large local brick and mortar electronics store. For amazing sound on a laptop NOTHING is better. My gaming daughter is going to love it; just hope it doesn't impact her college GPA(smile).

Best gaming laptop,
This review is from: Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q705 17-Inch Widescreen Laptop (Electronics)
This is the best gaming laptop i've purchased. It has amazing graphic ability, lots of memory, and the sound system is great too. I loved the fire-y design, and red is my favorite color. I have no complaints about this computer at all. Everything runs smoothly and there is no ghosting while i'm playing mmorpg gaimes.

Toshiba Qosmio recall,
By
This review is from: Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q705 17-Inch Widescreen Laptop (Electronics)
Toshiba has decided to recall selected laptop models, which is based on 2nd generation Intel Core "Sandy Bridge" processors. The recall is due to the recently discovered error on the included Intel 6-Series "Cougar Point" chipset. The defected laptops are Satellite A660/ A665, L655, and M645 series models, the Satellite E305-S1990, Toshiba Portege R835 laptops, Qosmio X505 series systems and the Qosmio X500-Q930 model. Toshiba requests owners of these affected laptops to "return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund". [Toshiba via Laptoping]

I have had this laptop for about a year now, it replaced a HP that I wanted to like but couldn't. My daughter has a toshiba, now my wife and I have Toshiba's and I will not give up my Qosmio.

Caveat emptor...,
This review is from: Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q705 17-Inch Widescreen Laptop (Electronics)
...which means: BUYER BEWARE. I purchased an earlier model Qosmio and after that experience will no longer buy any computer manufactured by Toshiba. The heavy, expensive laptop loaded with desirable features, had defective component(s) which caused the screen to fail when just out of the one-year warranty. I have learned that many other buyers had this same experience, and that Toshiba consistently refused to replace the defective component as they should have, regardless of warranty expiration. I now have an expensive boat anchor and can't even access my files to delete them. If Toshiba decided to change its reprehensible policy, I would change my mind about them and so note in this review. But 'til then, my money will be spent elsewhere.

I was going to buy this computer. Researched it on the web and it had good reviews. Best Buy had it cheaper and I wanted it quick, so I went to the store to get it. So very glad I did. Ugliest computer I have ever seen. Looks like it was made for the [...]old. I don't know how good it is but I would have been embarrassed to carry it around. I bought an Asus.
