Amazon.com Product Description

Equally impressive when used as a business or entertainment notebook, the Satellite 1800-S204 is a reasonably priced system that comes loaded with useful features. Consider, for example, its 1 GHz Celeron processor, DVD-ROM drive, 256 MB of RAM (expandable to 512 MB), and 20 GB hard disk. Also housed in its 7-pound, 1.8-inch-high case are a 56K modem, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet NIC, and a 13.3-inch, active-matrix display with 1,024 x 768 resolution. The system comes with the business-oriented version of Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows XP Professional, pre-installed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Desktop Replacement, November 21, 2001

This review is from: Toshiba Satellite 1800-S204 Laptop (1-GHz Celeron, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive) (Personal Computers)
This is the first computer I have ever purchased, and I could not be happier. I was leary of paying more money for a laptop, but this unit was priced competetively and has everyhing I need, with the exception of the Windows Office Suite. Media Player is a great way to stay entertained while working. I simply love this laptop and cannot find a better deal anywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good hardware for the money, May 21, 2003

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Toshiba Satellite 1800-S204 Laptop (1-GHz Celeron, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive) (Personal Computers)
This is a nice computer however rating this thing is like comparing a head of lettuce. There is little difference between it or something from HP or Dell. I bought it by price and am pleased. The display is crystal clear, the processor, memory and disk drive are adequate but not great - you have to pay more money for more storage or speed. For word processing, web browsing and occassional office tasks this thing is more than adequate as equipped.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Buy, February 2, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Toshiba Satellite 1800-S204 Laptop (1-GHz Celeron, 256 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive) (Personal Computers)
This computer is a very bad buy, it has a number of problems. The Monitor has a weak light that turns off while in use. The mouse is defective, the sensitivity is off, it can get really sensitive to very dull, also it clicks without you using the button this gets really annoing while writing. Its processor is a celeron, means ... in german, it might be a gigahertz processor but the computer doesn't use the full power.
