5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect laptop, January 15, 2007
This review is from: Toshiba Satellite A105-S2201 15.4" Widescreen Notebook PC (Intel Celeron M Processor 420, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, DVD SuperMulti Drive) (Personal Computers)
Perfect laptop for most users .. good starting apps and connectivity suite is particularly good for troubleshooting internet connection problems. Multimedia stuff works well and I found it to be an allround good machine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Toshiba satellite laptop purchase, January 9, 2007

Purchased this laptop in early Dec. 2006 after a lengthy comparative analysis of existing products. Before buying online, I had a chance to download the users manual from the Toshiba website, and to review set up procedures, functionalities, etc. If you have the time, I strongly recommend this, especially if you are buying any laptop online without seeing it first. After a month of continuous daily use, I do not have much to complain about.

One thing to keep in mind is that all shipped Toshiba laptops have the volume control dial turned off (the dial is located in the front of the machine to the right of center). The reason I note this here is that Toshiba does not mention this in the users manual or in any of the various booklets shipped with the product. I called Toshiba because I thought there was a problem with the sound card that came with the machine (all other volume controls worked well). They told me it was just the dial, so I am telling you so you will be aware as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Laptop Review, June 3, 2007

I've had this laptop for about 6 months. I do not do anything out of the ordinary on it. I mostly use it for word processing and Internet surfing. I did crash on my once; I do not know why this happened. I could have picked up a virus that went undetected by my virus protection. I believe it was Windows XP fault; not Toshiba's. I lost everything, but was able to reload with the rescue disk and it is working fine. I would recommend this product. Additionally, I have a [...]who likes to watch videos on the laptop and usually winds up pressing keys (and also plucking all the them off!) and this laptop was able to withstand a toddler.

Everything works well on the Laptop except I e-mailed J&R and asked for info on adding to the RAM and they never responded to me. Will I void the warranty by adding to the RAM myself?
