I bought this for a friend and we got it up and running this morning. I am impressed by a number of things.
A very sharp screen, and one that is a touch screen. It works very well.
The finger pad is one of the best I've used.
It has more USB ports then my laptop which is much bigger. It also has an eSata port which allows for fast external drives or an external BluRay player/burner.
The sound is quite good for a device this size. The keyboard is very good.
It was easy to connect to my WiFi router. It can also make a wired connection.
It does have some of the usual "trial software" that you may want to get rid of.
I would recommend a better anti-virus then the one that comes with it.
This would a good machine for a student or someone who needs it for basic things.
It will not be good if you want to run 3 or 4 big programs at the same time. I bought this laptop for its features and price. In that regard its a great buy. I use it mainly as a portable music studio. I have tons of music software on it and performs brilliantly with out crashing under the heavy CPU demands of these programs as all my other computers have.
Originally I was a little disappointed with the sensitivity of the touchpad while trying to type. Thanks to another Amazon member, I am now aware of how to shut the touchpad down and just use an external mouse. There's a little button right above the touch pad - genius.
